Question is which first round pick, tonight's or a future #1.
Philly is one of those teams that's got the ammo to move up in the draft. They have the 34 and 36th picks overall.

According to Woj (Twitter link), Philadelphia will also receive wing Terrance Ferguson in the swap, while OKC will acquire the rights to draft-and-stash prospect Vasilije Micic, a 26-year-old who is considered one of the top point guards in Europe.

hoist a beer. And Tommy if you can still bleed Green in the after life send us an all star.

Ainge never had a deal to move up according to the press reports that I read. I don't even think it was close at all.... I really thought the odds of Celtics getting #2 from the Warriors were less than 1%. I do think the Warriors interest in Smart was genuine but the Warriors wanted significantly more than Marcus Smart. And Ainge wasn't prepared to pay that price. So, no deal and probably short phone conversations.
If Warriors had the third pick instead of the 2nd, it would have been easier to pry it loose from them since was fairly certain going into the draft they like Wiseman and Edwards. I do not think they liked Ball. He reminded them a little too much of DLo who they never liked at all. Warriors knew all along that DLo was a poor fit but they just acquired him to flip him.
I believe the Warriors board based a little bit on need was 1) Wiseman 2) Edwards. I am not even sure if Klay's injury flipped their board. The Warriors know with the Lakers having Lebron and Davis, they need more than just Draymond Green to compete even if Klay was healthy.
