I prefer the Lakers that crushed their opponents on defense because they had to, over the Lakers that'll blow teams out and then subsequently coast on defense.
Losing Bradley, Green and KCP, maybe Dwight too, at once is gonna be brutal on Lebron and AD if they plan to win a lot of games.
Why are you assuming they're losing KCP? From everything I've read it seems like he's very likely to re-sign. Zach Lowe called it a "foregone conclusion". I think Dwight is a pretty good bet to re-sign too now that GSW probably isn't interested.
I'm not assuming they lose anybody. Just generally reacting to everyone's focus on getting better shooters while sacrificing some defense. If KCP signs that's a welcome relief for the Lakers imo. Having more capable defensive guards will help them way more than Gallinari and whatever other one-way shooter could imo.
Kcp is solid and id want him back but hes not like absurdly good defensively or anything, gallo would be such a huge upgrade on offense that i think its a no brainer if its a one to one trade, but i get what youre saying and id prefer good defensive unexploitable guys that help the offense a bit over help the offense alot but add a crack to the D
An ibaka would be great, 3 and D guyvwould be great too. The main thing we need is shooting offensively, schroder prolly good enough to create his own offense that that archtype is filled altho idk about his p and r game.
Schroders a good start for shooting, KCP would be too
Atm our roster is
Lebron
AD
Schroder
(KCP)?
Caruso
Kuzma
Javale
THT
Leaving:
Green
Rondo (replaced by schroder)
Bradley
Morris
The shooting is pretty dire if kcp leaves since caruso and kuz arent great shooters (hopefully kuz finally does something lol) but i think well find good alternatives. Schroder for rondo is a good start
