Clippers have an opening at the starting 4/5 position, Ibaka seems to fit that role perfectly. Also he seemed pretty close with Kawhi in his lone season as a raptor. Maybe Ibaka decides to ring chase with Kawhi?

Williams/George/Leonard/Morris/Ibaka could be an interesting closing lineup.

looking at some of the money doled out, i refuse to belive ibaka settles for MLE, and he doesnt need to ring chase, he earned one the right way already.

This made me look at past winners and asked besides the raptors and maybe the mavs every other team were timg chasers, not that I wouldn't mind it happen with toronto, but I do value the ship the raptors earned even more considering.

If FVV stays, then Ibaka stays 1 year balloon payment.
my guesses are 4 yr $92 and 1 year $18

If fvv leaves ibaka s&t to bkn somewhere in the 3 yr 42 mil range, for teurean prince/claxton/low end protected 1st rounder or 2 seconds.

No way Ibaka gets less than 3/60. A 15 and 8 with 38% 3pt big, he gets paid.

There are no contending team with enough cap space that can offer him anywhere near that amount. At this moment in time, it’s probably down to 3 teams; raptors, nets or clippers.

Raptors will probably look to resign Serge for 2 years 40 million (balloon contract) with a 2nd year team option or 3 years 45 million with a 3rd year team option to make it easier to move him to create a max slot.

Nets are going to cross the hard cap once they sign Joe Harris and cannot offer Serge the full MLE. If they are going to sign Serge, it will have to be through sign and trade with raptors taking back T. prince and Allen (for fit). This also takes them out of the Harden sweepstakes so it will be very tricky.

Clippers can only offer the MLE and they don’t have any pieces that the raptors would want back in a sign and trade.

Considering Serge has a home in Florida, his family lives in Florida, and Florida has no state income tax, I think he comes back. Just a matter of negotiating the terms of the contract at this point.

Very valid point.

If bucks and kings are getting investigated this def should be looked into.
Don't know about raptors and him close to signing.

But a 6th man of the year getting what he got compared to the other free agents

And obviously rich Paul is his agent, we all knew something was happening when he switched to Paul .

Makes the raptors ship even more special once you realize how stacked the odds are - mentor has taught his predecessor well very well

If this man sabotaged his own client to get him to the Lakers to help LeBron he should be banned from the sport for life!
The league should also go after LeBron for putting this stuff together behind the scenes.

I doubt fans will make any noise about this, and the league will turn a blind eye to it all. It's really really strange he got only 9 milion per year on such a short contact while being the sixth man and so young. :o

No. Zero chance.

He put up 22/11 on 60+ TS% at 24 years old.

What data do you have to back up your invalid opinion?

I have 3/27 and 3/41 as offers to back up my incredibly valid opinion.

I really want us to get Noel. I think he would make our defense even more elite. He's a terrific shot blocker of course, but he does a really good job at defending out in space with his quick reach and hands.

In only 18.5 minutes a game he averaged 1.5 blocks, 1 steal, and 4.9 rebounds. Give him Serge's minutes and he could get 2.2 blocks, 1.5 steals, and 7.2 rebounds.

He might have problems with old school centers like Embiid die to bulk, but there aren't many left, and I think we can scheme around that.

Offensively he's a good rim runner and he's got an underrated passing game.

Ibaka doesn't take an MLE ever and in losing Harrell they lose the ability to S+T. Clippers are **** with Harrell taking the MLE instead of going elsewhere for more money in S+T>

No there is no real point here. Besides one... what if Harrell got his agent fees waived by Paul to go to the Lakers. I would think the NBA needs to look into that but only that. James does not own Klutch but if by some weird chance he did, that's the only way. That's the only thing that might be inappropriate by friendship or otherwise. The Lakers are not dumb enough to pay him under the table and risk losing years of picks.

Lakers don’t need to, Clutch can pay him under the table which I am sure they do for Lebrons teammates that sign on cheap deals.

Being smart and not overpaying average players. Hopefully all these deals lowers the price for FVV/Ibaka since teams won't have any money left.

Dudes here bugging about our inactivity but sometimes the best move in life is to do nothing. A hallmark of our success has been to have our players on good or bargain basement deals. I rather we do nothing than waste money on average players that kill our ability to compete down the line. Cap flexibility is more important than exciting Raps fans on realgm.

Playing in Tampa Bay might actually help us re-sign our free agents. Who doesn't want to play in a warm weather climate during the depths of winter. Ibaka looks especially good for a big one year payday with maybe a team option for second or third season.

Yeah Lebron being Lebron with his bought super teams concept. His whole career has been teams built with free agents rather then organically. NBA fans would have much more repect for him if he stayed in one place long enough and stopped being a general manager with a big wallet.

I want Fred and Serge back. Fred on a team friendly deal and Serge on a very short front loaded deal.

No news is good news at this point I guess. If either was an opposing teams “target”. We would’ve heard something yesterday.....
