All teams that have shown signs of life. Teams that don’t tank year after year and hire the wrong coaches and GMs and they actually develop talent. Maybe at some point we’ll stop tanking and actually show signs of life so players have more than just financial reasons to join us. I know we are conditioned to think “THIRTEENTH PICK BAD TANKING GOOD” but how has that worked out for anyone since, I dunno, the Cavs in 03?
We haven’t been tanking we’ve just been inept.
Also you need talent to develop it we have very little talent to work with which is why you want to get those guys through the draft who are good enough to convince FA’s to eventually come here.
The tanking comment was aimed more towards fans that somehow are still under the impression that tanking is a viable solution in 2020. We agree though. You need to develop what you have so that you can show those signs of life and actually be an attractive destination. We’ve drafted talented players, we’ve just completely botched their development. Hopefully it stops this year with Thibs taking over and him actually having a track record of developing wing players like RJ (Butler) and big men like Mitch (KAT)
I think tanking is a viable solution.
We’ve never tanked which is why we usually end up with a pick somewhere around 6-8 when we had high picks we got KP.
I also disagree that we’ve had talent that we botched.. Where? I think we’ve drafted badly overall.
I don’t see any of our current young guys as anything close to franchise players..at best mane solid starters.
