How does E city not make this list ?
You forgot the main target for years during that era

They need at least one more year of tanking.
This draft wasn't good but next year's is very deep.
Let's remember that they haven't drafted well recently. All it takes is one draft to change the course of the entire franchise.
we say this every year when we end up picking 4,5,6,7,8,9Hes_On_Fire wrote:snadler wrote:Just saying the Knicks can keep having 50 million in cap space, in 2021, 2022, 2023, nobody is signing here while the team keeps winning 20 games..I don’t care how good the players are coming out of the draft, you have to start putting a winning product on the floor for cap space to mean anything..

But again, with thibs coaching and the new lottery rules, the Knicks won’t be the worst team in the league..they will win enough to miss top 3 and lose enough to miss the playoffs..it’s the never ending cycle..just keeps pushing the target further down the road

Recruited as a PG prospect, used more off the ball like a 2 at Kentucky because of depth/all the guards
His highlights look very "2" to me, but I'm no scout and maybe the PG ability is there to unlock
recruited as a PG, and his recruiting profile via ESPN called him a "true PG" but from what I saw, he looked more like a 2 that can play the 1 in spurts. Hagans looked to be the clear true-PG for them (he has a nice handle, and is a very good passer, but can't shoot the 3)
from what I saw, he doesn't have great handle, doesn't finish well in the paint, is just an ok passer. he was drafted for shooting and defense

You just don't tank and a superstar pops out. You have to have a foundation to build them into a star. Part of the reason Frank and Knox look so bad is cause we have put them in horrible situations. Put them on the Warriors, Heat or Spurs they look a lot different.
If Kawhi isn't drafted by the spurs I doubt he becomes who he is today and he was picked 15th. Raptors just won with no lottery picks on the roster. Warriors won with no top 5 picks. We don't need to be a bottom feeder for another season we need to actually start winning games, before RJ and Toppin pick up bad habits.
Talent shows itself eventually...Hate to break it to you but you can have the greatest coaches of all time and they aren’t transforming Frank or Knox into stars.
We haven’t drafted well outside of KP.
Talent does show itself I agree. But, you are only guaranteed to get sure-thing superstar talent if you are drafting top 3, and with the new lottery odds even if you are the worst team in the league you are only picking top 3 50% the time. Other talent you need to develop. It doesn't make sense to punt a whole season to only give you a small chance to get a to draft a top player.
And even if you do draft a top player then some other sh*t can happen like they get injured (KP, Oden).

If free agents won’t come here, how else do you get good players other than the draft?
