Quickley-rj-obi-powell :s

Doubt RJ would have played but Toppin destroying those kids would get everyone hyped.

And we could see if Quickley's shooting is for real. At least the season starts next month

They need at least one more year of tanking.

This draft wasn't good but next year's is very deep.

Let's remember that they haven't drafted well recently. All it takes is one draft to change the course of the entire franchise.

But again, with thibs coaching and the new lottery rules, the Knicks won’t be the worst team in the league..they will win enough to miss top 3 and lose enough to miss the playoffs..it’s the never ending cycle..just keeps pushing the target further down the road

thats 1 of the bigger arguments for going PG over Obi

I really wanted to trade up to get 1 of Hali or Kira because next year's draft, outside of Cade isn't a PG class, it's a wing/forward class

next summer after we pick 8th and strike out in FA again "we just need to tank one more year for emoni and chet holmgren"

there's no end in sight

nobody will ever want to play here as long as dolan is the owner

Knicks are going to save that cap space until a disgruntled star becomes available for trade. They’re not going to make any major signings this off-season

Recruited as a PG prospect, used more off the ball like a 2 at Kentucky because of depth/all the guards

His highlights look very "2" to me, but I'm no scout and maybe the PG ability is there to unlock

recruited as a PG, and his recruiting profile via ESPN called him a "true PG" but from what I saw, he looked more like a 2 that can play the 1 in spurts. Hagans looked to be the clear true-PG for them (he has a nice handle, and is a very good passer, but can't shoot the 3)

from what I saw, he doesn't have great handle, doesn't finish well in the paint, is just an ok passer. he was drafted for shooting and defense

Could be a steal. These guys at Kentucky play out of position for the betterment of the team.

If free agents won’t come here, how else do you get good players other than the draft?

You have to have a foundation to build them into a star. Part of the reason Frank and Knox look so bad is cause we have put them in horrible situations. Put them on the Warriors, Heat or Spurs they look a lot different.

If Kawhi isn't drafted by the spurs I doubt he becomes who he is today and he was picked 15th. Raptors just won with no lottery picks on the roster. Warriors won with no top 5 picks. We don't need to be a bottom feeder for another season we need to actually start winning games, before RJ and Toppin pick up bad habits.

Talent shows itself eventually...Hate to break it to you but you can have the greatest coaches of all time and they aren’t transforming Frank or Knox into stars.

We haven’t drafted well outside of KP.

Talent does show itself I agree. But, you are only guaranteed to get sure-thing superstar talent if you are drafting top 3, and with the new lottery odds even if you are the worst team in the league you are only picking top 3 50% the time. Other talent you need to develop. It doesn't make sense to punt a whole season to only give you a small chance to get a to draft a top player.

And even if you do draft a top player then some other sh*t can happen like they get injured (KP, Oden).

Just because it doesn’t guarantee a thing doesn’t mean you don’t try..

Even if you don’t get a franchise player if you draft well enough those players can become assets to trade for a star like the Lakers trade for Davis.

We do not have the young players to pull that type of trade off.

All overpaying a veteran of two in Free Agency is gonna do is have us stuck in mediocrity and having a ceiling of a 7 or 8 seed.

Quickley looks more like an undersized SG to me, but he should have plenty of chances here. Hopefully he can flash some more skills. You never know especially with the Kentucky guys

We learned nothing from the Zion draft... or any other recent draft. Start looking at who's mocked in that 8-12 range
