Absolutely he is. He's a max cat for me and can actually be a big part of a rebuild. I think teams simply know that the Pels are gonna match any offer he gets so you'd have to either entice them with a great return on a sign and trade or send him an offer sheet just for the hell of it and hope he signs it and they don't match but no way they let a guy like that go without at the very least doing a sign and trade but they're gonna match any offer.

Unfortunately, i wouldn't be surprised at all now if it's payton / burks / RJ / randle / mitch :-?

Please

Payton
Burks
Bullock
Randle
Noel

To the FO, vets=wins. And the primary goal this year is to win as much as possible to attract free agents next year. Therefore, all the non-vets will have to be benched because development happens by watching other guys play.

I can't tell if some of these posts are parody or not anymore. Since there's no green font...

The only player above who is even under contract for next year is Randle. Free agents know they won't be playing with Payton, Burks, Bullock, or Noel in 2021. So why would anyone (free agents or the Knicks front office) think that's a selling point regardless of the win total it produces?

It's easy for some of the naysayers to complain about the front office and say players don't want to be here because of them. But never think for once that the players don't want to come here because of YOU!!!

Examples?
1. The treatment of Stephon was disgusting and Dad was so pained that he suffered a heart attack at MSG from the boos raining down on his son. He of Brooklyn and Abraham Lincoln high school.
2. The booing of DSJ during his family crisis was painful to watch.
3. The treatment of Patrick during his later years was pathetic to watch. Don't believe me, Google it.
4. Mark Jackson was chased out of NY, he of 4th all-time assist and our very own: Queens, St. Johns etc.

That's just some of the few I can remember. Ask yourself before comaplaining about me, if the players around the league don't keep that in mind. Don't be delusional, because they do, trust me. It's not only the bright lights of Broadway but also the dim lights of some of the fans.

SO go ahead, blame Dolan, blame the front offices, coaches etc. and keep ignoring the fanbase's treatment of their own homegrown players.
I just hope we can get behind Obi and give the young man the posiitve energy he needs to bring us closer to the ultimate goal.
But know what? Given some of the posts the last couple of days and past experiences, I have big reservations.

No one knew that DSJ's stepmom had died when he was booed. He was booed in the celtics game cause he played like garbage (in that game and every game before, including Pre-Season while Frank was getting DNPs). It wasn't until the postgame that some journalists had started reporting their was a death in his family. If people had known he obviously wouldn't have been booed

There was zero reason to boo the man the though, let’s not justify it at all.

Just a massive failure, we should have had Malcolm Brogdon as part of our contingency plans, but they had nothing but KD & Kyrie as their plan. Just think of how different the outlook would be for us if we had Brogdon at PG.

I think i'm at the point of trading for J.Wall or.....i really don't wanna say this but WestBrick but only if they come with assets and i'm not talking about 2nd round picks. I want 1st round picks and/or young players and would absolutely want J.Wall over WestBrick and it's not even close.

Last year's starting lineup:

Elf
RJ
Morris
Randle
Taj

3 out of 5 were on 1 year deals. Free agents knew they wouldn't be playing with Payton, Morris, or Taj in 2020. Yet the FO still ran it out in an attempt to convince free agents to sign here anyways, so I don't see what the difference would be this year

I'm only half serious. We all know opening day lineup will be Elf/RJ/Obi/Randle/Mitch unless Randle gets traded.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

What I am hearing is that they are going to Max him. But they need to do their off-season moves in a certain order in order to offer the Max or pick up the other players. I didn’t do a deep dive on this. If so I would find a way to sabatoge the sh#% out of the Pelicans for a chance to offer the Max lol

I'm not trying to justify it, but the implication in the post I replied to is Knick fans will boo kids when their parents die because we are heartless. i don't think that was a fair characterization of the situation at all

now that this is officially a tank I'd kick the tires on the wall deal. can't do westbrook now. but they seem intent on keeping cap space for .... something. giannis probably. so I don't think the wall trade for multiple picks happens either

We would definitely need assets... problem is these guys don’t want to pay up. I believe you could get Washington to pay up. He is injury proned, has a terrible contract and everyone knows he don’t want a be there. With Westbrook his best skill is his athleticism. This declines with age and his shot was really exposed in the bubble.
