We should have space for a minimum player.
Thanks, this is good. Thoughts on Dialo?
Don't have to convince me

But truthfully Cheick isn't exactly what we need. We need to keep the lanes open. We need someone who can move the ball and space for others. He's not shooting the 3 as far as last season and he's not exactly the most crisp decision maker.
And we need someone to defend the plodders in the regular season and that's not exactly his forte.
He's a truely talented big man that has 4 years of league experience despite just turning 24. He's still rough around the edges but he's highly skilled and needs a bigger leash. He's much more than just an energy big but should easily have a place in the league as just that which makes investing in him much easier compared to other projects.
In Phoenix was his first year where he mostly played center. It definately helped his developement but he also clearly struggled versus more physical players that could somewhat match his speed. Here's some tape where he faced Giannis and got absolutely man-handled:
On the other hand he had his most impressive outings versus slower centers that just couldn't handle his speed and when he could play at high octane. Here's some more favorable tape vs. the Nuggets and the Lakers:
He doesn't help himself by not shooting the 3 and allowing defenders to keep a cushion. He used to get most of his points in PnRs or via putbacks but he's also developed a pretty sound inbetween game. Ultimately you want him to pop out quite a bit but he's not there yet. He improved his FT% every year and is up to 87%. He's got exeptional touch on floaters and jumpers. Additionally he's got solid numbers from midrange. At this point it's not an if but a when. And once he's got that he'll be preying on slower bigs.
Imo we could nevertheless invest in him as his floor is a useful energy big off the bench and he's a hardworking high character guy. But with our current roster makeup I wouldn't be surprised if we're going for someone bigger and more experienced.
