that's not exactly "lightly protected." much of the value in the draft tends to come in those top few picks. should make sixers fans feel better
Anything less than lottery protected is lightly protected. If you have to be one of the 4-6 worst teams in the league to hold onto the pick, that's almost the definition of pretty light protection.
Yeah, frankly, if OKC gets a pick 7-12 or so (really depends on the strength of the draft), this could be a steal for them. Presti knows how to draft, and you can get a Giannis, Kawhi, Klay, etc in that range if you’re lucky. Basically just for taking on a bad deal. However, I think with a good GM like Morey, we are betting on five years of playoffs, and this will be in the second half of the first round.
Considering we got a nice fit in Danny Green, and dumped Horford, you had to make the deal.
