In the span of a couple months, we've gone from a team of nice guys to a team of tough guys. Paul and Crowder have reputations for being hard nosed, tough, hard-working, and most importantly - COMPETITIVE players. Better than the bubble wins was a team that finally cared deeply about competing and winning at all costs. It was really fun to watch. I think Paul and Crowder build on that.
Love the JJ culture shift, and love that Monte is about earning playing time and not handing out anything.
On Oubre -- I loved the athleticism and talent, but always had the strange feeling he wasn't totally committed. Too much fashion and too many distractions, I guess. Feels like it was all about Kelly and that it manifested itself in him never passing the ball. Wish Kelly the best in Golden State, but I doubt our remaining players will be scared to face him. Addition by subtraction. I think that Mikal and Cam competed harder and played better in a team setting.
On Jalen Smith -- From a casual fan who reads message board and watches the highlight/breakdowns, I am pumped about the Jalen pick! There is no doubt that Jalen was BPA and the Spurs would have taken him right after. Kind of surprised he didn't go higher. If he would have had the Terrell Terry agent, he could have gone top 5.

(turns out that the Terry hype did not work very well)
Jalen Smith comps that I liked were - 1) Jaren Jackson who can rebound. 2) taller Amare who plays defense and has range. 3) David Robinson as a Power Forward (they have skinny legs and high-center of gravity in common). What strikes me is how light and fast he is. He covers a lot of ground quickly which allows him to get those highlight blocks. Love his humility, heart, competitiveness and work ethic. We're going to love watching this kid develop.
Booker has to be happy. Good GM, good coach, and the best "basketball" talent he has ever had. Playoffs or bust!
