I get the premise of the trade but we would at least need a pick coming back. Even with a pick, I would wait until the deadline to see how we are looking. If we look like we won't be competitive in the playoffs, I'd be open to the trade.
We give up the best player by far, and the guy with the highest potential. For a 6'8" Matt Thomas? The guy is 1 dimensional, at a position we already have a young elite 3 and D guy. He's gonna play 10minutes a night, and you're gonna need defenders like Jimmy Butler and Bam to compensate for him.
What did CP3 just return in trade? Lowry on a cheaper expiring and younger should get a similar package.
Get some bloody late lottery to early twenty picks for Bobby and Masai.
Needless to say, I thought the Friday gif was on point.
Sounds great. Make a list of teams that can offer expirings and assets for Lowry. There isn't much out there. If we can get a young player with potential and/or multiple picks I'm all for it.
Do you work for the Raps? If so, this would be a great strategy:
Post terrible trade on message board, get passionate fans to mine salary permutations for hours in order to come up with viable trade options. Bring options to boss, clock out for the day.
Although, in reality, I'm sure IBM Watson knows exactly what expirings and picks are out there.
If I'm trading with Miami, I'm getting back Precious 100%. Plus, whatever 2nds they have over the next two drafts.
Actually, take Duncan and pass him on to a team that would over value him (Denver?). Get a late first for him. I wouldn't give up TD in the trade. Matt Thomas sure.
So, upon closer inspection, your value is only short their 1st this past year, a future 2nd and a swap out of our back up SGs.
That said, I'm pretty high on Achiuwa. I think he fits as a nice complement to Siakam and OG (and Giannis). No idea what our front office thinks of him.
