Yea I think we have to have a very good team for at least a couple of seasons to turn heads. I'm hoping shooters see Beasley, Juancho flourish in our system and it opens some eyes.

Not that we are still shopping, but in theory does this make one of their wings more attainable? Personally I would only consider Reddish and I highly doubt he is remotely available for what we would offer. The other option is do teams who were 2 guard shopping now come calling for Beasley

Nothing we didn't already know but yes, it's very hard for us to lure free agents here. It's not just the water (its a factor) but mainly because we are a crap franchise.

Basically. You could argue this is why waiting another year to go 'all-in' could be important. Try to at least improve 3 and 5.

Basically. You could argue this is why waiting another year to go 'all-in' could be important. Try to at least improve 3 and 5.

Yep which is why prospective new owners want to move the team away from Minnesota.I don’t blame them because I would not want those extra hurdles to achieve a championship. I’d support this team wherever they go though:/

Yea the bad image has been around for a long time. Also, even KG made comments about how low class the organization seemed compared to the Celtics (some of that could have been him being salty but I bet there is truth to it back in 2009).

We just have been behind the 8-ball all over the place. Our prestige has probably gone up a tiny bit with some things like our awesome facilities but still, we are a low rate franchise. Most of that changes if you start building a winner. Doesn't have to be a title team but just a really good team with title potential. Doesn't mean we will have players eating out of our hands but we will have an easier time.

Continuing this thought, I think it's why Rosas has gone the route of trades and developing youth. This will never be a free agent destination. But that doesn't mean a winner can't be formed. We've got the San Antonio Spurs as the perfect archetype of this model. How many big-ticket free agents did they sign in their 20-year run?

Wolves are in an even tougher spot since San Antonio has WAY better winters and no state income tax.

Those two factors are HUGE, especially to players that haven't experienced Minnesota outside of flying in, being cold and flying back out (and haven't had a chance see the good parts outside of the tough weather/income tax hit).

This is why I'm not freaking out about the overpays. I think its really important we establish an identity and get this team moving forward. We need to be creative, we need to make players want to be here, we need to create a culture of excellence.
