No, it's Lasry. Likely had Holiday & Bogdanovic filling out the guard spots on his fantasy team, then single-mindedly told Horst to do whatever it takes to make it a reality. That's how he got bent over; by narrowing his options. Needed a pt to replace Bled.

Doubt it. OKC and CHA reportedly offered WASH their choice of picks and players for Beal and filler, WASH didn't even entertain the idea.

For good measure, here were the PG's before we got Eric Bledsoe:

Jerryd Bayless
Greivis Vasquez
Matthew Dellevadova
Brandon Jennings
Jason Terry
Gary Payton, JUNIOR
Michael Carter Williams
Tyler Ennis
Brandon Knight
Jorge Gutierrez
Kendall Marshall

I'll stop now. But Bledsoe and Brook have been damn studs for us the past couple seasons. With Jrue you actually did upgrade, but at a massive price. Good luck with easily replacing what Brook does! 8-)

I just threw up in my mouth after reading this...let's not revisit this anymore.

Meh, I have about as low an opinion on Horsty and the B's as anyone but I can't imagine there wasn't calls made. Washington seems to have made it clear to everyone they're not trading Beal for now but I imagine we called and read the room. We've got reports that at a minimum #24 was talked about for Bogdan and Dipo so its obvious that we were talking to other teams using assets we ended up using on Jrue.

No. Because they'd actually have to be interested in trading Beal

I like brook, i'd move him in a heart beat though if it means getting dipo. I'm purely fixated on the playoffs. Giannis becomes a rim protector, if you don't add a cheap replacement, have holiday lock up the ball handler and possibly craig or dipo as a help defender if needed. Also giannis is not getting exposed for pace like brook does with stretch 5s. At the other end, you've just added an iso dude in dipo. Get giannis to set screens and use him like the heat use bam.

I don't think they deserve the benefit of the doubt for that to be honest. I think they targeted Jrue and as soon as they knew what it would cost them they set their sights on it and didn't look back. They probably patted themselves on the back more times than they did make calls around the league to check in what else the same package would get them.

Because he is a net negative on any team.

plus that's where he wants to play.

No they couldn't have gotten Beal, Jrue is better than Beal, and considering that Beal wasn't on Giannis list because he had beef with him, it would chased Giannis right out of town.

I don’t even want to see the posts if we have to wait a full TEN minutes.

“Alex Lasry responsible for Giannis demanding trade. Made Giannis re-do beginning of signature 10x because the Boomerang video of him signing didn’t look good enough to send to Woj”

“Alex lasry responsible for Invalid Max Contract for Giannis. Made him sign in Hot Pink Gel Roller pen, not allowable ink according to CBA”

PP, of course you’re partially correct, but I also think you have to remember that both Brook and Bledsoe were scrap heap reclamation projects when we got them. One was cut for Javale McGee and passed on by every team in the NBA, the other was available for Greg Monroe’s dead money and a protected pick. Granted, they both had more nba propers than most scrap heap acquisitions, but they were definitely trending down.

I think the system has a way of making guys look better than they are; during the regular season at least. Pumped out 4 all stars on a plucky but somewhat rag tag Atlanta team.

I don’t think either is irreplaceable. Brook getting destroyed defensively during the playoffs was concerning to say the least.

You ascribing extra value to these two simply because the previous administration and coach were completely terrible is misleading. On their own merits, they were quite good for us these past two years, but Tyler Zeller and Greivis Vasquez have nothing to do with that.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

Lopez had one foot out the door prior to coming to MIL. Playing next to Giannis and in Bud's system is an extremely large part of his resurgence. While I don't think that Lopez is easily replaceable, I do think finding another big with a similar skillset isn't as hard as some make it to be.

He made up for it on offense. Certainly wasn't useless. Overall I think he was pretty good.
For what he is paid he needs to be good on both sides of the court.

Lopez enters this season as the 18th highest paid Center in the league. What are you guys even talking about? He's underpaid and that's not even really debatable.
