Don't know who the 5th one is if no other players are going out but I'd imagine it would be between Leaf, Roby, and Poirier. I can see a world where Ariza is imminently flipped and we keep 2 of them.

I think Miller & Roby get cut and Schofield & Justin Jackson hang. Miller is 30 and coming off a ACL tear. We really don't need the $7 million for matching purposes.

Poirier is on his way to the 6ers in the Horford deal. There might be another player coming back in that one, who you can expect be be cut.

I think they want to see what they have in Roby. I guess cutting Miller makes sense. Thought they might keep him for the purpose of matching, but we do have a large TPE.

You like Schofield over Roby? Why?

This is a weird one unless it's just a training camp deal

Pretty sure it is but still unexpected.

5-10-18 days to knowing opening day roster. Rate of change probably slows for awhile after that but probably some further changes up to trade deadline (and beyond with waivers / late adds).

Media day comments from Sam and Coach D. I'll be listening throughout the day and make some notes over stuff that I didn't read on twitter and approximate time stamps.

Sam's comments:
18:40 5-Doesn't expect the team to have the same level of sustained success (averaging 50 wins a year) over the next decade since it hadn't been done before.

21:00 Saw Poku and Maledon himself on a scouting trip to Europe.

24:30 He compares Poku's work ethic to KD and says " I don't know if Poku has that. We're going to find out."

24:50 starts discussion Shai as a central figure and that his growth won't be linear but will come through adversity.

29:50- History is not going to show a lot of players that became effective NBA players at a high level if they don't get to play. Discusses Serge's development and then Lu.

39:45- Mentions having guys like Muscala and Hill can provide a road map for the young guys for becoming professionals.

44:00- Leaf and Jackson are two guys the thunder have followed for a long time.

In summary, he talks a lot about the challenges presented by the pandemic. He shifts to discussing young guys and their development. He makes lots of references to the past. Unless the above points interest you and you enjoy hearing sam talk, it was kind of boring.

Coach D

3:00- in answering question about Shai's role of being a pg he say's shai will have more opportunities to create but doesn't necessarily mean he'll be bringing the ball over half court.

7:30- lots of praise for Diallo.

10:00 comments on Bazley.

12:00 comments on Poku. Not much significant said.

16:50: talks about the thunder "onboarding process" for new players in explaining the environment and tradition.

I don't know if he'll be a good coach or not but he's well-spoken. Like Sam, he mentioned not rushing the process more than once.

18:35- Dort and Jerome comments. Nothing significant.

Jackson to the Blue and Schofield cut and things might be settled.

Or some other way.

I’ve always heard good things about George hill. Seems like a really good guy. I’m ok if he stays around this year.

It's incredible how Sam Presti has been able to communicate so well with almost every Thunder player and treat them so well that we have such a good reputation around the league. Players are coming to a rebuilding franchise in a small market but they know they will have a good treatment and put under good conditions to show their value. That must help a lot those guys to show confidence and play well in order to get a trade after that.

Ps : Guess the only one that Presti wasn't able to communicate with/convice was KD... :( He was able to persuase Westbrook to stay twice; he knew Ibaka wanted to leave so he traded him one year before his contract expired; he was able to convince PG13 to stay etc.

Watch us mess around and keep he an Horford and get the 8th seed when we were supposed to tank.

The only question remaining is if these exceptions can be combined.

My understanding without checking back into it is that they can't be combined to raise the max salary. Split any way you way want. Linked in a multi part trade or trade sequence. But not directly y and simply combined.

Read on Twitter

"The Oklahoma City Thunder has acquired center Al Horford, the draft rights to guard Théo Maledon (selected 34th overall), the draft rights to guard Vasilije Micić (originally selected 52nd overall by Philadelphia in the 2014 NBA Draft) and a 2025 first-round draft pick from Philadelphia in exchange for guards Terrance Ferguson and Danny Green and center Vincent Poirier"

Maybe I'm reading into this too much, but does this mean we're bringing him over if we're tweeting something out like this?
