No clue what you are talking about, but I guess I should mention that the squad is so deep we already have issues spreading the minutes.

He's talking about cutting Kostas now that Giannis has agreed to sign for the supermax.

Is Kostas on a guaranteed or non guaranteed deal? If non-guaranteed, cut him and go get a backup PG. If guaranteed, eh might as well let him stick around and see if he develops into anything, dont think we save any money cutting his ass. Hell maybe we just trade him to MIL for a bag of basketballs. Might as well re-unite the brothers and save some cash.

WE got plenty of PG's and guys who can play both spots. I'd rather another SF anyone who can play garbage time

Lebron and Shroeder are the only players with playmaking ability.

Caruso is NOT a PG, he's a slasher finisher defender, who can barely hit the side of a barn from range, and with utterly woeful playmaking ability.

And that's pretty much it. I'd much rather get an extra vet backup PG, in case Lebron load manages and we kinda want ot have a secondary playmaker to backup Shroeder. It's a long season.

I like Kostas... If he aint hurting us, lets get him on the g league team and see what we can develop him into. He's shown flashes.

^I don't think we as a franchise , in our whole history , has ever , made a , "has shown flashes" into a meaningful , impactful player.

Either they end up contributing to the team or finding their niche/role within weeks or immediately ....or just find themselves on no-mans land at end of bench , going back and forth from gleague, and end up as trade fodder.

Getting blocked by Zubac even if Zu wasn't even jumping in the last preseason game says it all. He nothing special. Get a better guy for the slot.

Caruso disagrees. So does THT. I’m on the Kostas train, brother attainable or not.

So the elephant in this room (in my opinion) would be Kobe. 15minutes a game his rookie year. 7.6 points, 2boards, 1 assist.

I'd also bring up Fisher. 23minutes...6.3 points, 2boards, 3assists. Oh.....and that was his FOURTH season as a Laker. To further accentuate the point....Fisher played 78 games that season....started 22.

All of them Bynum kobe Fisher tht and Caruso were showing consistent talent and skill and either were contributing to the team in meaningful ways or were being planned upon to be utilized eventually (while they were in gleague > Caruso , tht)

F** totally forgot about him. I remember going to a summer-league game (it wasn't called "summer league" at the time, if I remember correctly) over in long-beach. Some weird pyramid place. My buddy and I went to go watch Bynum play. Good times.

Yeah....it took that guy a few years, didn't it.

Still remember that 07-08 season so well. Those 40-50 games before Bynum got hurt (and we got Gasol) were prob my fave games as a Laker fan of all time. The west literally had 10 50-win teams that season. And we were in front. That was the offseason where Kobe demanded a trade. For what it's worth...we got Fisher back. Say what you want about Fisher. I know he's no HoFer....but amazingly, it all 'clicked', didn't it?? God what a great run. Such a bummer Bynum got hurt. We were effin TEARING it up. It was so fun to watch.

Clarkson, Nance, caruso, Zubac, Nick Van Exel, Rony Turiaf, Luke Walton, Tony Smith, Robert Sacre... That's just dudes coming in the second round or later... If you factor in dudes who were 1rps but sucked at first the list grows a lot...

What I mean is i guess my definition of "show flashes" . to me it is: i don't see anything ..I don't see anything ..oh wait .. I see a play here ..maybe one occasion per every fourth time he's subbed in or every other other game. Like a wistful hope we have that he'll convert into something useful. A darius Morris or Xavier Henry for instance (sacre too)
I see we all differ on definitions. Nevermind. Not an important topic.

I get the gist of what your sayin. The Lakers are not in the 'development' business. Kareem was a trade. Magic and Worthy were #1 picks. Shaq was a trade. Kobe was drafted a little higher, but got penalized for being outa high school. The writing was on the wall with him..we just had to wait a couple years. And then Pau...now Lebron and AD.

I do think there are some guys though. Ariza was a 'streaky' guy, who really became a solid player here in LA. I think we fully developed Fisher. Point is....even though I ultimately agree with the spirit of what your saying, it's been done here. We can develop a player or two now and again.

Both Kostas and Cacok are on two way deals, they aren't taking anyone's roster spot.
