I don't understand why he needs to act like this. He was one of the most dominant centers in his prime. So why?

I'd argue that at his absolute peak in 2000, he was more dominant than anyone who has ever played, Jordan, Wilt, you name it. He just didn't have the discipline and motivated to be that guy his entire career. If he's to be bitter, he should be bitter about how much he left on the table due to his own laziness.

Young Shaq would have been athletic and quick enough to play now but yeah after Shaq got to Miami and became slow and out of shape he would not have been able to stay on the floor in today's NBA. Shaq's peak was brief compared to most all-time greats and conditioning was a big part of why.

The first time he was top 2 in MVP votes was 1995. The last was 2005. A decade isn't brief.

And Miami Shaq would be the best C in the league. Anyone talking about running Shaq off the floor doesn't understand basketball.
