Huge question for Sean going forward: Do we get the DPE for Dinwiddie or hope he can return by an NBA Finals run?

So, far we haven’t gotten word we got the Exception granted which leaves the door open for a Spencer return in my mind. The league has to make sure the player is for sure out for the entire season before granting the exception.

Kyrie and TJ returning on Wednesday should really shake up the lineup. I don’t want to see Shamet see a lick of minutes in Cleveland.

Somebody broke this down on Twitter the other night with bullet points from the CBA. We can both get the DPE and Spencer could comeback, we'd have to cut someone to bring him back though.

I don't think it's in anyone's interest for Spencer to come back to play playoff basketball.

I think that the Nets should offer Spencer a market value contract in the offseason and retain him.

Crown: Harden. His ability to get others involved/going was huge this game and puts him above KD(also shot better). Allowed Green, Harris and DJ made key contributions

Knight: Joe Harris. Joey Buckets is a perfect fit for this team. We all know his shooting but his defending sooo underrated, plus he has a decent dribble/drive game and is a fantastic finisher around the rim. All of that was on display tonight. 3rd best Net tonight.

I'm splitting my vote, .5 to KD, .5 to Harden. We don't win without either of them playing elite basketball and dominating the Bucks defense.

Deandre Jordan. Our stars crushed it.... and by the stat line giannis looks good. but DJ kept him in check. made him settle for jumpers, and contested alot of shots. when DJ went out, we gave up leads each time.

At this time, I’m thinking it may be easiest to close game threads after wins and open a separate post-game thread with a poll, so it’s easier to track our votes but I’m not sure. I’ll think about it and get your feedback.

In the meantime, I have some questions:

1) Someone (MDB?) mentioned something about having a “Knight” award in addition to the Crown. What function does the knight have? Is this a 2nd place vote?

2) At the moment, we’re only giving out crowns for wins. Should we leave it at this or do we want to give out “Jester” awards for bad/underwhelming performances when we lose too?

Any feedback and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

Oh yea for sure, crown knight n jester

It really depends. There might even be a month or so break in the season for COVID. And ACL's are basically like a bad sprain with sports science and medicine these days if there wasn't further damage to stuff like MCL's, PCL's, etc. Add to this it was only a partial tear and he's been hinting all along he plans to make it back. It will be around 7 months +, I could see it.

Now I do not think anyone should push him to come back and the doctors should heavily dissuade him if there is even an iota of doubt, but if he heals and conditions and can get in some hard practice and maybe even a handful of regular season games, I'll trust the doctors and him.

All that said, I'm doubtful.

Jordan was excellent tonight. Stuck to the gameplan, the Nets played the percentages versus Giannis and won. he had 34 points but it didn't matter, in fact had the Nets been a lot cleaner on the defensive glass and with the turnovers + KD being off earlier in the game, his game isn't even close.

if we get a significant break in between Part 1 and Part 2 of the season then yes, I can see Spencer coming back.

Let's see what happens.

I like the idea of the Knight as sort of a second place.

Not sure how I feel about Jester. Although fun, good vibes only!

What about a Pawn award, for the opposing teams worst player haha?

Great game. We abused a bucks defense that is likely the best in the league. we put up 125 with a B+ effort from KD and harden. IF Giannis doesnt hit his jumper we win in a laugher.

1) Props to Jeff Green. he hit a ton of shots from deep. he is, quite literally, the only guy defense can help off of. if he makes teams pay, then we are impossible to defend.

2) Joe Harris has got to be on cloud 9. more open jumper this year then probably the rest of his career combined

3) KD with the big shot at the end of the game. missed his last 2 in those situations. that wasnt going to continue

4) Deandre was excellent. He gaurded Giannis all game. he blocked a few, stole a few, altered a few, and intimidated giannis into taking jumpers. giannis hit those he usually bricks them. Giannis line looks good but watching Deandre got the job done there.

5) Put some respect on Jrue Holidays name. people were talking about him like some midget scrub. you saw his elite D tonight vs both KD and Harden. Fortunetly for us, we could just give it to the superstar that Jrue wasnt defending

6) Giannis needs to grow a pair and demand to guard durant, isntead of peeing himself in fear of getting embarassed

We had KD or Durant on the floor for 48 minutes. Great teams are able to keep a star on the floor the entire game... but we arent a great team, we are an elite team... because what no one has mentioned yet, is that when Kyrie comes back we are going to have TWO stars on the floor at all times.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
