BY NO MEANS do I think we should fire sale him. The only guys I would consider for him are Towns, Adebayo and maaaaaaaaybe Porzingis if he continues to show full health. Having 3 bona fide stars is better than anyone's dynamic duo, BUT getting a younger guy at a position of need whose skill set better fits the 3rd wheel role might be a necessary tweak. Probably an offseason move if anything, but if the fit is wonky and a trade deadline deal materializes for one of those elite young bigs, I think we'd take it.
Short of them, I don't see him going anywhere, and we're better for it.
Porzingis is never healthy and Bam is no true star, he's an undersized C with no reliable jump shot. No way Kyrie should be traded for either.
Exactly.
We should be good enough for someone to pull a DeMarcus Cousins and sign a MLE deal for a shot at a ring. I’ve seen a lot of guys from Iman Shumpert to Isaiah Thomas lobby for a role on the Nets. I haven’t heard one pundit try to talk on the idea of us signing ring chasers to improve our needs but LOVE to mention we’re the team to beat in the East every other day.
We also have multiple second round picks through 2025 including picks from Denver, Phoenix, Portland to include in any trade, mini-MLE, DPE that will likely be approved by the 1st of the month.
We could trade up to FOUR 2nds in any future trade without packaging a player for instance. The Clippers got Kennard for 4 2nds and a lower level bench role player.
Astounding logic by these so called experts that Kyrie being traded is the answer. I wish I could be paid that much to know absolutely nothing about NBA basketball.
He will be ridiculed until he wins multiple championships. The entire media and brainless fans wants him to retire and go out like some Delonte West junkie and I will never accept that bull. He has his flaws but he damn sure isn’t nothing that we’ve seen him be ridiculed for.
I’ve seen heartlessness in Deron Williams. I’ve seen quitting in Deron Williams and I’ve seen real lack of respect for the organization, fans and players from Deron Williams. Apparently, REAL Nets fans forgot we paid a guy max money to sit and spend all pregame hours hanging out with opposing teams SECURITY instead of hanging out with teammates in the arena pre-game and show up to be outplayed on a nightly basis from the opposing team’s PG.
I remember watching Deron Williams be EMBARRASSED and CLOWNED by BACKUPS! making vet minimum money. Watching this clown be cooked by Efrid Payton, DJ Augustin, Nate Robinson, etc. This man couldn’t even get the proper surgery to help his decline. Nets fans have nothing to complain about with a Big 3 of Kyrie, Harden and KD after ONE game. Period. These dudes LOVE the organization and playing with each other and that is what matters. Hearing all three could be extended next summer is what matters.
We are literally the first topic of the league in franchise history. More press than Miami Heat got. Anyone trying to get Kyrie out of here in 3 seconds of swapping LeVert/Allen for Harden after 2 games isn’t much of a Nets fan, IMO.
We can all have our different perspective of basketball but absolutely no real fan is going to try to break up a Big 3 of PRIME unstoppable offensive talent without a personal dislike for kyrie. He can’t perform any better right now than he is for his position. We can all be adults and say you dislike the guy personally or something instead of weird trade ideas to break up what could be the best offensive trio EVER assembled.
