in the nfl, a deal that's good in a vacuum is very likely to be good period.  it either improves you in the short and/or long term or it doesn't
but yes, a great QB w/ a bad supporting cast will result in a bad team.  an elite nfl QB is not nearly as important as an elite nba player.  it would require a whole lot of assets traded, however, to make it difficult to build a contender around watson at some point
