I've talked about this before. I would trade Oubre and filler salary and the Minny Pick for Jerami Grant. As in love as we are with that Minny pick, Grant helps us right away. A lineup of Steph/Wiggins/Grant/Draymond/Wiseman is a killer. And when Klay is healthy, we have a ton of flexibility with our roster. What team can compete with a death lineup of Steph/Klay/Wiggins/Grant/Draymond. Our bench, excluding Wiseman, will also still have the MLE, Looney, Paschall, etc.
You mean *the* Min pick which can be #4 or #5 this season, or un-protected next season. Min is worst team in the league right now.
For Jerami Grant?
Yep. But like I mentioned in another post, there's a difference between trading it without knowing where it's landing and trading it knowing where it's landing and having taken a good look at the prospects.
To me, the Minny pick is just too valuable of an asset to give for Jerami Grant though. But I see what you mean.
That pick is the key/difference maker if a big fish becomes available. Below are our chips. The Min pick is like the biggest pick asset in the league right now according to theathletic.com
- Our own 2021 pick (~#15-#20), or Min's 2nd round pick (#31-#33) <- come draft time we can attach the one not taken by OKC
- Min's 2021 pick (#4-#5), or Min's un-protected 2022 first round pick
- Wiseman (depends on his progress, can be a big or small trade chip)
- Wiggins
- Oubre
- Still have our 2022, 2023, 2025, and 2026 first round picks
