That is such a horrendous trade for the Bulls, why would they want Love and his remaining quite large salary? Oh and to play center on top of that...
Here to argue about nonsensical things and suck away your joy.

because its an upgrade to what we have and FA next year is not a good pool.

Love isn't an upgrade on the court at this point. And he's somehow even a significant downgrade from Lauri even from a health perspective.

Love is Lauri's future. A really great player...on paper and on the bench 1/2 the time. Seriously, though, he is just a bad contract these days. I'd be fine taking him on for other assets like a 1st or Garland. I played with the trade machine and getting NY involved to get Drummond, but NY doesn't have good matching contracts that are remotely interesting.

We really really dont need Love at PF, for center spot its even more weird and not usefull at all

its because love has been a better center than pf for years.

I'm thinking a test drive for Dipo might make sense. Would be a big help for a playoff run. Taking on Gordon's crappy contract is risky cause he could bolt, but adding a couple of young guys...what about:
Porter, Val, Hutch, Felicio for Dipo, Gordon, Nwaba, Kuruks
Porter, Val, Hutch, Felicio for Dipo, Gordon, Nwaba, Kuruks

If Houston blows it up, I’d strongly look at John Wall. He looks pretty good tbh

If the Bulls get a FRP from somebody for taking on the only big contract then I could do this. There's more to most deals than just matching contracts. Love is still too good for CLE to just give away but he also isn't good enough for the Bulls to just absorb his salary and years using up their cap space for a couple of years without getting something for their participation.
On the floor this allows the Bulls to trade or S&T Markkanen. They would start Williams, Love, Carter up front. Thad Young comes in to spell Love and Love becomes the the backup center. For right now Valentine is your backup SF. Next year my first option is to keep Young, second is to find a SF FA capable of starting and either start him next to Williams and have Love come off the bench or have the FA come in behind Love/Williams with PW being the backup PF. Depending on how things work out maybe Young still stays.
I'm not afraid of Kevin Love even at his price, so long as he's not the 2 or 3 option, Lavine, White and hopefully Williams, maybe some FA, ahead of him. He's an expensive role player but if he's playing against most teams' second unit, he dominates them much the way Young is this year.

on the floor it looks like this to me: by the half
Love-15 Carter-9
Markaneen-18 Thad-6
Williams-14 Temple-10
1.Cobe-16 Zach-8
2. Zach-10 Sato-10 Valentine-4
This is cobe bring it up the court offense, zach 1st option with good shooters all around and decent go to interior scoring as well from love and lauri.

Not sure why you would lower Thad's numbers that much when he has the most positive impact on our lineups.

because i would like to think lauri would get the bulk of the minutes at his position due to good play.
, ive always thought thad was more of a 3 than a 5, id be happy to give him sf minutes.

Thad is not a SF nor C, he is pure PF, who plays C in small ball lineups for Bulls, because our center depth sucks to the..

Hopefully we could also get them to throw in James Ennis because he is a very efficient scorer. Orlando saves cash and tanks for Cunningham or Suggs. We get to keep our pick this year to pick somewhere in the late teens and try to add another rotation player.
If the Bulls don't plan on re-signing Markkanen then he can be included in some variation of this trade.
White/Sato/Arci
LaVine/Ross/Temple
Williams/Ennis/Valentine
Markkanen/Young
Vucevic/Gafford/Kornet
That's not enough for Vuvevic. He will cost much more than that.
Porter, Carter, Markkanen, 2022 top-10 protected 1st round pick? For Vucevic and they also include Ross to unload his 3 year $40m deal.

We are getting the worst of that deal
Drummond is younger and has money coming off the books this off season. Love is older is owed 2 more years upwards of 60 mill left on the deal.

Re: NBA Trade Thread # 3
My dream trade deadline deals are like this,
- Lauri for Lonzo
-Otto, Valentine , Hutchison and Carter Jr. and 2 first rd pics and 2 2nds for Vucevic and Aaron Gordon
I would prefer not give up Lauri and get lonzo and Vuc abs Gordon but don’t see how it’s possible for
Lineup
lonzo/ Satoransky
Lavine/ white
Williams/ Satoransky
Gordon/ Thad young / Williams
Vucevic/ Gafford
But I don’t think this will happen so this is my realistic outcome which gives us a Pg In Rubio to help run the offense and get a real big man next to Lauri and get Drummond
Bulls trade Otto and Valentine and a future protected 2nd for Drummond !
Then bulls trade Felicio, Hutchison, Gafford, Archi and a 2nd rd pick for Rubio
Lineup
Rubio/Satoransky
Lavine/ white
Williams/ Satoransky
Gordon/ Thad young / Williams
Drummond/ Carter Jr.
Let’s make this happen

I like Oladipo and Drummond. Drummond would probably cost expiring and a second, Oladipo would probably cost expiring and a first figuring they're both free agents next year.
Oladipo/White
Lavine/Temple
Williams/Sato
Lauri/Young
Drummond/ Carter
It's a high-risk high reward scenario a good mix of young guys and veterans that I think would put us top four in the east. Things would have to work in our favor to pull this through agents players and a whole lot of acting and misleading
