Dear god, no.
Rodgers coming off his second best season of his career and the Pack led the league in offense last year. You don’t risk chemistry by bringing in an ass hat like Beckham.

Pretty sure Nick Wright and OBJ are friends or at least friendly. I'd happily give up our 1st for him.
I think people remember 24 year old Beckham and still think he is that guy. I am not so sure, missed substantial time 3 out of the last 4 years. What gives people confidence that he is still a difference maker?
I think I would rather roll the dice on Rondale Moore or Kadarius Toney with that first round pick.

This past season aside. The production he had despite utter trash situations at QB the two years prior? Elite hands? I don't doubt for a second that OBJ isn't capable of absolutely blowing up elsewhere. I just don't think offense is this pressing need. I want to shore up the middle of our defense.M-C-G wrote:JimmyTheKid wrote:

I'd much rather go into the season with Adams/Funchess/Lazard/MVS/Tonyan/Sternberger and see what we have. If we need a little extra oomph, then look into a trade.

I think injuries had an impact and I agree QB play is a factor. But pretty much everything on career lows. Missed 25 games the last 4 years and I think mostly leg injuries, but can't recall for certain.
Wouldn't doubt he could be very good here, I just don't think it is forgone conclusion. And I agree it would be like a cherry on the top of the offense while we have some pretty big other holes to fill.

I think I typically don't advocate for ILB at all, but I do feel like this year may be different if the right guy is there. And by right guy I mean at least one of Bolton or Zaven being there.
Otherwise, I'd probably just roll the dice on Dylan Moses a little bit later as a sideline to sideline guy that is a sure tackler and hope he turns into Devon White.

hypothetical.. OBJ for Preston Smith/Late round picks? I don't want to give any significant assets up (top 4 rounds) in draft picks. But I'd salary swap and buy low on OBJ. If they are indeed looking to flip preston this could do it. Pack would still need to fit in OBJ cap wise, but i'd think about it if I was the packers. OBJ is on a super friendly deal - ZERO dead money if cut and at 15 mil per for the next 3 years.

If I was picking 15M to do something with, I would probably have just signed Aaron Jones (or at least tagged him) and try to bring in Patrick Peterson or something like that.

Re: 2021 Draft and Offseason - Wagner and Kirksey Released
Zadarius just sent out a tweet saying he wants to stay in GB for the rest of his career. I would bet he re-works his contract in the next 48 hours to cut his cap number down this year dramatically. That, and a new deal for Adams likely gets us under the cap, but we still need room for our rookies and a few other veteran signings.
The problem with Preston is we're going to need his salary next year to pay Jaire. Also - Rashan Gary is ready now, the guy needs to play more. If we can get through this off-season with these moves I like our chances for 2021, but we still need a couple base hits and even a home run in the draft to push us over the edge.
Maybe less blood shed then I thought this year.

The whole point is, can we get a better player for under 8M/year? If not and it's not impacting keeping any other players, we should keep him. Next season is a whole new problem, because the dead cap is only 4M.

Preston's gone. They're doing the usual offseason lip service of being "in trade talks" before the inevitable cut. I get the logic behind bringing King back on a cheap deal if he hears crickets in free agency, but IDK man, I can't see any way you ever feel comfortable trotting him out there after that embarrassingly awful performance he put on in the NFCCG. Probably better for both sides to just move on.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I would call ATL about Julio before thinking about OBJ.
2021 first, Preston Smith, and Jordan Love. Extend Adams, Z, and whoever else you need to in order to get it done.
Rodgers-Adams-Julio
I know....I know...we don't have the capspace but boy oh boy would that be fun. I don't want any part of OBJ.

I'd take OBJ, but I'm not giving up a first for him.

Rather than trading picks for OBJ, if we had the money for a WR we could sign:
Golladay, Juju, Corey Davis, or Fuller (probably on a huge discount with his recent suspension). All four would be as productive, or more productive than OBJ would be in this offense and you don't have to give up any picks. If I am giving up picks I want a Julio or Michael Thomas type.

We would take the cap hit from Rodgers and the salary of Wilson. That would be over 70 million in cap just for those two.

Is NFL salary cap even more complicated than NBA?
Anyways, would you guys have interest in Lockett alone? We have ridiculous talent at WR. Our biggest needs are pass rush, OL, and we could always use draft picks (since we traded all of them for a safety
