As many of you recall, in training camp 2005, the team wanted to win now, and they had concerns whether rookie Bogut could handle the load at starting center.

In early October, a young Larry Harris was reading his aggregation of beat writer stories on "HoopsHype.com" and saw that the Hornets/Bobcats were interested in trading Jamaal Magloire. Larry got on the phone and next thing you know, we're sending out Desmond Mason ("Larry's a snake!") along with our 2006 #1 pick.

Of course in May of 2006, we had a chance to deal ourselves back into the first round. On the table was a trade deal of Magloire and Mo Williams to the Jazz for Carlos Boozer and the #14 pick (Ronnie Brewer). Kohl nixed the deal, because he already has Redd's max deal on the books, and was concerned about doubling down on two max (or near max) deals with Boozer.

As a result, we waited until the mid-late summer. Then a poster here "FormerBucksFan" who was related to Ernie Grunfeld (his brother-in-law I believe) showed up to inform us that Magloire was being dealt to Portland for Steve (Fruit the Beer) Blake, Brian Skinner and Ha Seung-Jin. And about 36 hours later, that trade become a reality.

2 weeks from today is the deadline. I'm guessing we make no moves unless is a scrub (DJW) for a scrub. I don't see any blockbuster trades, I think they've all been made already.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Don't forget the Magloire trade also was the end of the Gadzuric era, just after he signed his big extension. If only the Bucks had the inside to pick CP3 at #1 and start lob city in Milwaukee with CP3 and Danny G.

Since Giannis became a star I hoped for CP3 to become a Buck one day. I'm still waiting...

One thing I cannot fault the Bucks for doing was trying to buy in early on guys like Jamallstar and Bobby Simmons.

Neither worked out, but I understood making the bets.

I’d be interested to know if Paul tanked his interviews with Milwaukee. I know big guys were the thing in the league at the time, but I also remember how much everyone loved Paul coming out of college

Pretty sure if we had drafted CP3, Gadzuric would still be in the league.

Man, Simmons sums up exactly how I remembered that 05 draft. I still vividly remember my dad and I being so pissed off that Bogut was going to be the pick over Paul.

Sure, he’s only 42 now.
But his contract would not have been so bad if the Bucks had drafted CP3. He was the perfect fit with Redd, Gadz and the cowboy. But unfortunately the Bucks had their hopes on a TJ Ford comeback...

Tony Snell just hit a game winner buzzer beater 3 against the Raptors.

Really good job by him moving into space where Tray could find him.

If Snell could’ve ever taken a higher volume of shots he might have lived up to that contract. Unfortunately that just never seemed to be his game. He’s a sniper, but he never really had that let it fly mentality.

He had a pretty productive game in addition to the game winner: 6/4/2. Snell heater game.
