Yep. I think right now if Embiid was healthy it would be

Embiid
Harden
Jokic
Giannis
Lebron

Take Giannis out (replace with KD) and that’s the best 5 players currently in the nba

Yeah... I get Everyone has Giannis fatigue from him being unbelievable but wow. Giannis gets bashed for things that Embiid, Harden or Jokic also haven't done.

Harden and Jokic have reached a conference final.Hopefully soon Giannis will learn how to shoot and won’t be stopped by a wall

Back again just to say Embiid injured and Philly with a blow out win...

A better comparison for Embiid would be to younger/healthy blake griffin. Most overrated player by the fans of all time with recent comparisons I've seen to prime shaq.

Funny he's playing under doc rivers now too

Your posts are just tooo funny and totally inaccurate. How many conference finals has embiid been to?
Giannis needs to hit his free throws like he is doing now that’s what is going to win in the playoffs.

This is weird in so many levels. The player that never reached conference finals is Embiid; Players that never won MVP before are Embiid and Jokic; The player hardly played any games is Durant; The player that just sunk his previous team and jumped ship is Harden. Yet Giannis is not eligible because of he is not better than last year's himself :banghead: .

Jokic is crushing the per-minute/per-possession advanced stats at an historical level and he's second in the league in minutes! (Don't know if he'll still be second in the morning.) It shouldn't be a conversation right now, in my opinion.

But... 'tis all in good fun.

I checked bbref this evening, and Antetokounmpo shot 28% from three in his first 18 games and 32% in his last 18 games. In his last 13 games, he's shooting 34%. I think his FT% has followed a similar trajectory this year. I started following these numbers in early February, when I was watching a Bucks game and noticed how improved his stroke looked. Things are looking pretty good for Milwaukee right now. If his stroke is indeed as improved as it looks, then he is indeed better than "last year's himself."

The only players to win three straight MVP's are Russell, Chamberlain, and Bird. I'd have no problem with Antetokounmpo joining that group, if he deserved it. James should've won five straight, and Jordan should've won at least five straight, but them not winning when they deserved it is no reason to penalize Antetokounmpo. (Oh, and Kareem may have deserved a bunch in a row... I'm not certain.)

I think Jokic should be way ahead right now, though. His per-minute/per-possession advanced stats are flirting with the top ten in history, and he's second in the league in minutes (as of Sunday morning)! EDIT: When I say flirting: he's 9th in PER, 11th in WS/48, and 8th in BPM - in history!

Antetokounmpo or Embiid is second right now, but obviously Antetokounmpo is going to pass Embiid soon if he hasn't already.

Not saying Giannis should be the MVP or would get my vote, just cannot justify people rule him out using lack of post season success, especially false ones like he never reached conference finals. This is a regular season award. Joker is a no brainer for me now but Luka is only 1.5 games behind. The Mavs are healthier with an easier remaining schedule :) . I can hope, right?

Who said Giannis is out. He is in the top 5 list ahead of Lebron. I said as an overall player I would take KD over him .

I mean the Bucks were in the Conference Finals just 2 seasons ago.

Yes Jokic is really outwordly this season. Unfortunately i don't think the Nuggets will be top4. It's a shame but on the other hand i'm glad that my favourite player gets the love he deserves finally.

Giannis and Harden are all but out. They both had all-time Win Loss Percentages while playing better and with less help. There’s almost no reason to give it to either with voter fatigue among the last 3 seasons.

Pretty much the same as my list.

Except Embiid is out for apparent reasons.

Tier 1 candidates, 40% of winning:
Jokic

Tier 2, 10-15% of winning:
Harden
Giannis

Tier 3, single digit percentages:
Embiid
Lebron
Lillard
Kawhi
Doncic
Curry
Kyrie
Gobert

People hanging onto the record argument when the teams are separated by a couple of games is just them desperately staning for their undeserving guy to win. if a 5th seed candidate is 2 games behind the 3rd seed candidate, how does it make sense to say that he's not the leading candidate when he's clearly having a historically great season individually?

Jimmy Buckets has entered the conversation, big time...

He already missed like 15 games, it's pretty much impossible for him to win.

The Heat even with BAM, Dragic and Herro looked like the Wolves without him, and contender with him.

Miami is 17-8 with Jimmy, which would be 2nd in the East.

Jimmy NBA rank:
3rd in WS/48
4th in BPM
6th in PER

His impact metrics are also among the best in the league. Only players I'm definitively putting him above at the moment are Embiid, Jokic and probably Giannis & LeBron.
