Lonzo would definitely be an upgrade for the team. His defense is much much better than Kemba's, then on the offensive end. Lonzo is becoming very good at moving off the ball and is a hell of a catch and shoot threat. He also is extremely smart with the ball and good at finding what is available to him. Now him creating in the half court is not his strength. But that is why he is a good fit with the Pels right now because the Pels have Zion and Ingram who both excel at creating in the half court. So Lonzo plugs in perfectly with them.
If the plan is to move forward with Tatum/Brown leading the offense, you cant ask for a better PG to pair up with them than Lonzo. But if Brown isnt a guy that can create for himself consistently in the half court, Lonzo isnt really going to help out there. That just isnt his strength at the moment. His strength in the half court is off ball movement, catch and shoot and smart with the ball when it is in his hands.
I agree with you about Lonzo, especially his defense.
I would trade Kemba, Grant Williams, and Carsen for Lonzo, Bledsoe, and Redick.
This was my trade proposal for Lonzo.
If the Pels don't think they can keep Lonzo, I think this is a good trade for both teams.
LaVar Ball made it clear New Orleans is not the place for Lonzo.
So Lonzo, Bledsoe, and Redick for Kemba, Grant Williams, and Carsen is fair.
Kemba gives the Pels stability at the PG position because he's still under contract until 2023.
The Pels would also be dumping Bledsoe's contract on the Celtics.
