I just don't see a trade getting done at all.
Pelicans do get a useful vet for the upcoming season. Ball has been linked to Chicago since his LA days

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

This is a great opportunity to get out of overpaid WCJ contract for his trash production. Think about it. He’s scheduled to make 7 mil next year when Dwight Howard is being paid 2-3 mil a year. Pack his Emo bag and don’t look back.
That’s who I’m looking to unload too. I think Coby will come around and he can shoot 3s. WCJ is a head case.

To add to that, anyone trading for him now probably intends to retain him next year. He's a RFA, so we'd really have to overpay. Getting him now gives us the best chance of resigning him at a more reasonable figure.

This tells us a lot about what Billy and AK think about our roster? If they trade Sato and they can still choose not to resign Lonzo and then they don’t have to pay 6M for Sato’s buyout.
I’d think though they think Lonzo will improve and he will take pressure of Zach and make Coby and Lauri better. He’d help our D right away.

Has Atlanta actually offer Reddish or is this more of NO saying they are interested in Reddish and Hawks did not say no immediately and people assume Reddish was a possibility?

1. Sato and 2nds is clearly not enough. But I’m at least pleased the Bulls are looking at it. He’s pretty close to an ideal fit in my opinion.
2. Why in the hell does Atlanta, of all teams, want Lonzo Ball?
3. Why in the hell would Ball re-sign with Atlanta?

So Lonzo would play 2 guard in ATL? I get wanting to pair a defensove guard with Trae but that seems like an odd fit.

Point 1. I don't think its too far off the mark in reality... Ball is an RFA and Sato offers what, 65-70% of what balls does so they can either choose to honour his contract or let him go. Maybe offer a protected future 1st but then you more or less HAVE to resign him and his leverage goes up.
2. I cannot see a great fit, he would never have the ball in his hands.. unless he is convinced to play as a SG.
3. I cannot see any reason why he would want to resign with an established PG in Atlanta.

CF is going to go crazy.
IMO it shows AK thinks he works w Zach and will cover some of our defensive issues.

Need some sort of assurance from Lonzo’s camp that he’d take an extension with our team before I would offer any real asset. Right now, it’s a rental for 30 some games and that’s exactly what we offered.

Also works well with Coby as he takes the ball out of his hands, but allows him to be matched up defensively against smaller PGs.

Meh, we'd have matching rights. Things would have to go just absurdly awful if he'd rather sign a qualifying offer than resign with us.

I’d give them Carter.

I’d gladly take Ball now. Great running mate for Zach and he is shooting the ball well.

We’d have matching rights. The only risk is another team throws insane money at him. I’d take that risk. And I’d give up a real asset to do it.

If AK wants Lonzo so bad he should've drafted Haliburton.

Any deal involving WCJ for expiring is a W deal. If Lonzo plays like a stud, we will roll WCJ and Sato into a Lonzo contract. If Lonzo sucks, we will free up about 22 mil in cap space. W either ways.

If Lonzo and Hali are equivalent, then why Wouldn’t you just sign Lonzo as a free agent, or trade for him, and draft another young player with promise?
