He also says Heat are strongest Lowry team, but Philly and Clippers interested(Stein had earlier hinted at Dallas as well). Lowry's preference is supposed to be Miami not Philly because of Butler. But Raps want Herro or Robinson in return.
Heat also favs to sign a bought out LMA with Portland in the mix.
Lots of Collins interest(Celtics, Kings, Mavs, Pistons, Wolves) Hawks asked for Beasley and a 1st and Minny said no. Boston also would like Bogdan in a Collins deal.
Clippers chasing PG's everywhere as expected --Lowry, Ball, Hill, Rubio
Gordon in demand. Houston trying to offer up Dipo to get him.
Mavs and Cavs talked about Drummond (barf)
Warriors shopping Oubre
Dieng possible buy out guy
Nets willing to include Dinwiddie for help now.
If the Hawks land Ball, all I can say is Trader Trav ( Schlenk ) is a madman. I don't hate it at all. But this is way out from left field for me.
Doesn't feel completely left field. Schlenk likes the main Warriors trio and Lonzo is one of the closest skill comparisons to Draymond in the league.
Defensively it would be ideal to help pair with Trae in the backcourt. The wrinkle will be how they get Trae to play off-ball or to play off Ball more.
My main thing about the left field comment is Ball and Collins pretty much guarantees the Hawks will be a luxury team next season. Not horribly bad but still in it. Then Trae and Huerter still to sign the following season.
Without shifting some salaries around, the Hawks would probably have a top 5 or 10 payroll in 2022/23.
