He'd be crazy not too IMO. He needs to think about his long term career & value, not $2M or $3M now.
If Lavine had stayed a 6th man in Minny or some 3rd option in Sac behind Fox/Hield, he wouldn't be looking at a guaranteed max contract at 25.
PG is extremely stacked throughout the league, there aren't too many teams he can walk into and start and get a ton of touches. Even the Pels don't want to run the ball through him, they'd rather use Zion & Ingram. His inability to shoot off the dribble is very problematic, Chicago is one of the few places that A) guarantees him a long term starting PG spot B) has a young SG good enough to relieve almost all scoring pressure off of him.
There were rumors all season his agent prefers him to land in Chicago, it's to his advantage.
