Thanks. Still seems steep, but suddenly reasonable.

River has future money too, right? So getting off money for next year seems like a win as well.

I would be very surprised if Rivers remains on the Thunder this year.

Most likely, but he could also be kept and cut for free or flipped if a team wants him at the draft.

Looks like the Knicks also clear a roster spot.

Nice deal for Philly; I'm sure they tried to keep Bradley over, say, Scott and/or Poirier (also more complicated), but I'm also sure OKC said um no thanks.

Nice deal for everyone. Wonder if Philly picks up an extra C in the buyout market.

My guess is that the only reason OKC insisted on Bradley over Scott is because Bradley + Rivers fits into the 7.4M TPE OKC has for Oubre, but Rivers + Scott does not.

Doesn't matter. George Hill is better than Seth Curry.

Bradley also a good prospect at center to take a look at. Moses Brown has been interesting but otherwise there's nothing there for OKC in terms of potential. Horford and Muscala are passing through. Poku, Bazley, Roby are PFs if they are anything.

Hill is super underrated still as a defender, spot up shooter, general steady player. Love his fit with Simmons.

Pre-Trade Sixers bench was:
Maxey/Shake/Thybulle/Korkmaz/Scott/Dwight (I listed 6, yes)

They desperately needed Hill and to be able to do:
Hill/Shake/Thybulle//Scott/Dwight

Scott still sucks though..

Maxey didnt play well against us but I thought he was a fixture in PHI's rotation?

No way. He'll be ok in a few years. Can't have him on the court in the playoffs. Hasn't been a regular in the rotation since TJ Mcconnell undressed him in a game a little over a month ago.

Ferg was traded from OKC to Philly this year. Needed to launder his salary.

Porier too.

I have Bradley as having positive value, he is solid and young. I have Scott as negative value, because he sucks. I don't even think the TPE difference -- while real -- matters comparatively.

Had to have been under the basis of a larger deal going down that ultimately came undone. I was seeing Oubre's name flying around, and others saying Green had been informed by his agent a deal was going down. I assume it would have been in a 3 team with Lowry going to Philadelphia and Green possibly being routed to GS. Who knows though, but I'm happy Mr. Three Rings is staying

Solid deal all around.

Philly comes out the best. Hill is a solid fallback option from Lowry if the price got too steep. I really like what he does for their bench and it's a bargain compared to where a lot thought the market was going to demand.

OKC does well to get value for Hill. Bradley is a solid guy to take a shot on and those 2nds are at least worth a lot of cash these days if nothing else.

I would have thought Rivers could stay in Thibs rotation, but I guess not. If you're not going to play him, might as well trade him. It's fine for them.

So, I give this deal:
Philly A-
OKC A
NYK D

Philly:
Would be an A+ but Bradley has been needed, the team just started Mike Scott at center. But a legit 3rd guard with Curry and Green, and one who can play packup pg was needed. What was needed even more imo, was the ability to have a 2nd guard replacing Green next offseason. I would have gone all in on Powell, then overpaid with Bird Rights. But prior to the trade, Philly was set with 30m in expirings and then just the MLE (or a S&T that triggers a hardcap) to get better next year. Tough options, especially when the S&T is of a Ferguson, or a likely ring chasing Danny Green. The big reason this trade is an A (or A-) for me is that Hill has an almost unguaranteed 10m next year, which can be used as guaranteed in a trade if one materializes. Philly's salary cap sructure needed the flexibility of this desperately, or else it looked like all their picks and rookie contracts wouldn't be able to bring back anyone without losing Curry as well as Green next offseason. Absolutely worth the 2nds, and yes, even Bradley.

OKC: Young promising center, multiple distant 2nds, and no guaranteed salary next year. Win.

NYK: Didn't even get the Knicks 2nd back, and were needed to match salary. Instead spent salary cap space and got more useless players for a very small return.

Yeah, I like this a lot for Philly, they have the MLE only next year, and none of their expirings is a normal S&T candidate, so they add a good veteran PG, and have the option of keeping his salary next year for further improvement.
I hope Darryl Morey puts some sense in a terribly run organization.

I wouldn't He has a deal similar to Kendrich. Unless they want to sign Moses Brown this year, I think Rivers might be sticking around in the George Hill role.
