The NBA also just said they plan on the TV and Cable contracts are going to increase 243%... Safe to say the cap is going to move to the north quite a bit...
NBA said they wanted $75 billion for 9 years. Current deal runs through 2024-25 and is for $24 billion.
NFL just signed a $110 billion deal for 11 years.
NFL gets huge ratings, the NBA doesn't always, depending on the national TV matchups and playoffs, especially the Finals.
So NBA is looking for almost triple the current deal, which was already a huge increase over the previous deal.
Saying what they want and getting it are two different things.
In any event, doesn't the Lakers get more from local TV contract than the national NBA contract?
Why worry about luxury tax when there's a chance for a dynasty?
