Ejection has no monetary penalty, unless I'm wrong.

$30k for OG is far less than Fred's single game suspension without pay

Yup Fred is losing 250k for this

Yeah didn’t Jokic get suspended for taking literally a foot across the line. Idk what FVV is thinking unless he did it on purpose.

Pretty dumb.

Congratulations, Adam Silver.

its been a rule for a long time and enforced regularly, players are prohibited from leaving the bench during an altercation. The punishment is automatic, minimum 1 game.

The NBA has consistently suspended players who leave the bench area so maybe I'm missing something here. It is the one thing they do well instead of focusing on real crap that influence the game like flopping.

So if Raptors had Fred listed as out before suspension, this means him missing today’s game doesn’t count as serving the suspension, right?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Adam loves the flopping/high scores.

Not sure what the big deal is leaving the bench area.

When a player makes a huge dunk, block shot...whatever, the bench clears and runs away. Pretty sure those bench players end up on the court. What a dumb rule.

What's stupid is that Fred was out there de-escalating. Harrell escalated as the third man in, and gets away with the lightest punishment of them all. Trent also escalated, should have gotten something. I don't recall Bembry's role, but it's absolutely asinine that leaving the bench to stop a fight should be treated more seriously than a combatant.

Another one of those situations where the NBA just fails in disciplinary measures.

the rule is about leaving bench during altercation, its not about leaving the bench.

According to NBA rules, “During an altercation, all players not participating in the game must remain in the immediate vicinity of their bench. Violators will be suspended, without pay, for a minimum of one game and fined up to $50,000.

He serves the suspension once he’s physically cleared

Google "Kermit Washington punch"

The NBA is justifiably anal about minimizing the possibility of fights breaking out.

That’s what I thought. Though it is the Raptors who physically clear guys so they could just say he’s ready to go today if they expect him to be ready for the next game. But who knows if they care enough to bother...

https://official.nba.com/rule-no-12-fouls-and-penalties/#fightingfouls

-During an altercation, all players not participating in the game must remain in the immediate vicinity of their Violators will be subject to suspension, without pay, for a minimum of one game and fined up to $50,000.

=The suspensions will commence prior to the start of their next game.
=A team must have a minimum of eight players dressed and ready to play in every preseason and regular season game and nine in any playoff game.
=If five or more players leave the bench, the players will serve their suspensions alphabetically, according to the first letters of their last name.
=If seven bench players are suspended (assuming no participants are included), four of them would be suspended for the first game following the altercation. The remaining three would be suspended for the second game following the altercation.

funny mistake, they meant to say "remain in immediate vicinity of thier bench", but reads "in the immediate vicinity of their Violators"

If someone is going to throw hands, someone is going to throw hands. No fine is going to stop anyone like Kermit.

Fred's out with injury anyway, what's to stop the Raps from setting his return date 1 game earlier than it would've been so he can serve the suspension before he'd have returned anyway?

Maybe I'm missing something. Doesn't really affect Fred IMO (the hit to the wallet sucks).

Nurse must be devastated that Bembry isn't available to start at PG.
