He was stringing together good games here too recently before being traded. Look like him and Tristan just had a really slow start to the season. I'm still down for PP getting his minutes so glad they let him go.
My guess is Teague asked to be traded. His salary wasn't really needed in the trade. I don't buy this idea that Ainge trades players to force the coach to play other players. I'm guessing Teague was unhappy that PP developed so fast and took the minutes he thought he was going to get. Then he probably heard through the grape vine that the Bucks would take him. So Ainge has to weigh slightly helping the Bucks vs having an unhappy player- possible downtick in team moral- and possibly making it harder to sign vets in the future.
I'd bet a lot of teams say to guys like Teague, "sign with us and if it's not a good fit we will help you out."
