Something like we are so lucky to have 2 lotto picks in this historically very very deep and top heavy draft.
1st - wow they are counting on chickens before our eggs hatched. We don't even know if we get bumped out and/or CHI continues sucking but other teams are probably thinking a top-5 and a top-10 pick for us already.
2nd - If the stars aligned for us, will we have a different attitude towards WeHam? Like.. wow they built the value up of AG/Vuc and managed to get these kind of hauls. And depending on what they do with this draft, will this ensure their job security and makes us suffe.....errr anticipate WeHam players/moves?
3rd - what kind of players would we be willing to give up our CHI pick for?
Just some rando thoughts really...

WeHam bought themselves some time. Chi pick looking better by the day. They did mess up by holding onto Fournier & Gordon for too long and causing us to miss out of 2 more 1st rounders. They can’t sit on their hands like they have been the past 4 years.
I’m really not sure what players we’d pursue if we wanted to look into trading the Chi pick. We’d want a player still on a rookie contract I’d presume. Personally see us more attracted to holding onto the pick and getting Moody/Keon instead of moving it. Maybe a player like Miles Bridges and/or PJ washington while swapping 2021 1st rounders (Chi pick) and we send Terrence Ross or Mo Bamba?

I agree with Evan but AG? I think this was the best offer for AG. A future FRP, a young potential player and a vet expiring. Sure I wish the young player could be GTJ and the vet could have been Zach but it is what it is.

Didn’t the Blazers also have an offer where they would send us 2 1st rounders, and later sent that package to the Rockets for Covington?
I’d also prefer a package with 1 1st rounder & GTJ over Hampton & Nuggets 1st.
More so concerned that the only reason they finally moved from Vuc which was the absolute right nove to make at the right time was because of injuries and not something they would’ve done under their own power. I believe they should’ve traded Vuc this year regardless of injuries and still shows continued reluctancy on their end to make moves.

The Pistons, Cavs, & Wolves games we have left are must lose. Holding out WCJ and/or Gary Harris in those games are necessary.
Personally with how the Thunder are playing, I don’t feel comfortable with the Magic winning more than 1 more game the rest of the season.

It matters if they do not win a lottery ticket. If the Magic and Wolves are 2 and 3 (or tied), for both to miss out on lady-luck, that is only an about 36% probability.
For Orlando thought, it does mean an improved guarantee floor on the lowest the pick could be.

Yeah it probably means more for the Magic to move up and get a guaranteed top 5.drsd wrote:basketballRob wrote:It doesn't make too much of a difference where Minnesota ends up.
