I found it interesting when he answered that he admitted maybe the communication could be better (whatever that means, letting Rodgers know about the Love pick?). Seemed like someone that actually wanted Rodgers back and was actively working on that.
It also seemed like he felt, because the Packers are in a good position right now to win, that Rodgers would want to come back, or at least gives the Packers a realistic shot at convincing him to stay.

Communication could have been better is a major cop out. How would this conversation take place?
"Hey Aaron, I know we made the NFC championship game and our defense got run over, but you're getting older and I want to build for the future." Yeah, that communication didn't take place because there was nothing to say.
"Hey Aaron, I know we made the NFC Championship and our defense got three interceptions, but your offense didn't do dick with those picks. Also, you're making a lot of money and you declined an extension that would allow us to free up more cap space, so here we are."
