Lonzo allows us to start Quickely IMO.

IQ not being a PG doesn't hurt if he's paired up with someone Lonzo's size that will be the ball mover in the lineup.

I wouldn't want to have the worst backcourt in the league really.

That's odd considering you want DeRozan.

Haha yes, odd timing for this report with the TWolves on a modest winning streak. But yes, bring it on!

Ok. So KAT is a really, really good offensive player. Let's pretend he can be a Knick and the cost isn't RJ, Randle or IQ, but lots of picks. (Yes, highly theoretical)

Can he truly be taught to give a f*ck about defense?
Would he even want to be coached by Thibs again?

Can a team that revolves around Rose/IQ/RJ/Bullocks/KAT/Noel for a few seasons be truly competitive, playoff wise?

Yes, I obviously have Mitch going out in the trade.

I am somewhat curious to see what kind of effect being around Kenny Payne again would have on KAT.. in addition to him being a little bit older and wiser a second stint with Thibs

He struggled to do t in Minny with Thibs and Jimmy Butler up his azz. So logically speaking...No.

I mean Randle learned later on.. KAT recently said something a long the lines of he’s done with the stat chasing phase of his career and wanting to win is more of a priority now. He’s about the same age as Randle and about to enter his prime years. I could see him being more open to Thibs type coaching at this stage of his career

Rockets got him basically for free. im not sure the Knicks wanted to take a gamble on him since he has a lot of problems off the court and seems to be a bad locker room guy. oh well

Absolutely!!!

Imo Randle was a worst defender last year than what Kat is now and look a Julius under kp and jb now!!!!

Just imagine what Kenny Payne and johnnie Bryant can do with Kat!!!!

That Kat & Randle duo would be the best in the league and it wouldn’t even be close.

The amount of playmaking and shooting at the 4&5 would unprecedented and unmatched in nba history!!!!

We’d instantly be the title favorites!!!

Lonzo/Rose
IQ/Burks
Rj/bullock
Randle/?
Towns/taj

Thibs couldnt even motivate Towns when minnesota was Towns team, now imagine trying to motivate him as the 2/3 option on this one.

I just don't see the long term vision of pairing Randle and Towns together unless Thibs knows he can get KAT to protect the rim. Randle basically gives you 90% of KAT's offense with better playmaking and more utility on defense. And I don't think it would be a good look on the FO's part to trade Randle after what he did this year.

The Knicks need guard shot makers and creators. Rose and Quickley are a start but we don't have that elite option yet who can close out a game for us against the best defenses. That's why even with all their flaws I still think Lavine and Beal are ultimately the best realistic options for this group. We have the coach and the personnel to cover for them defensively and they have elite shot making ability.

If the FO can be patient and wait either until next trade deadline (when their prices come down) or 2022 FA then this team could be loaded.
