If you’re not worried there are 3 possibilities:
1) You aren’t paying close attention
2) You don’t care about where we pick
3) You have a healthy life balance with the right perspective and priorities where you don’t put undue emphasis on the fate of the local sports team.
I’ll admit when the team was good number 3 didn’t apply to me even in the slightest. I’d get way too caught up. Part of that was immaturity. Now that we’ve been bad for all but the very beginning of my adult life, this stuff riles me up a lot less.
Mate I couldn’t agree with you anymore. While we’ve tanked Casey will still play guys going for the win when we are close late in games and other teams have shown they will go much further with their tank willing to pretty much deliberately play their team to lose late ensuring they get better odds for their lottery. Seeing us lose to the magic was nice, but we still do need to worry that we will come on stronger he last few games and lose 1-2 spots in our draft order
Dude, this take is beyond tired. If Casey was going for wins why do the Pistons have the 2nd worst record in the entire NBA? Do you honestly think all the guys who were out last night were for LEGITIMATE injury/rest reasons? Get some new material, bro. Seriously. Or you'll be eating a second serving of crow right after you finish the one you got for panning the Stewart pick.
Because our team sucks, and that has zero to do with Casey. I haven’t seen a single shred of evidence to show that if we are close late in games that Casey will still prioritise development and tanking over getting the win. In close games Casey has played the vets (when they aren’t resting and pushed for it) so I don’t know how on earth you are so positive Casey is helping us tank. With regard to players being held out I think it’s for the teams doctors and gm to decide who gets held out, and not the coach.
In any case there’s a decade of history where the Pistons as an organisation have decided to try to win games against tanking teams with a better record than ours and we end up losing our position to them.
And on the Stewart front are you referring to my post admitting I was wrong? If so it’s a little late to be making that call when I had already called it myself.
