I think SGA has the edge for now but I don’t think it’s inconceivable that MPJ ends up being the better player.

Id love a poll. Pretty sure SGA would win, but it would be interesting to see the T&T takes.

I'm also interested to know if MPJ singularly outbids the Warriors collection of assets?

MPJ is just too perfect of a fit next to Jokic. Murray's ACL tear makes it tough to trade him, but I think he in theory should be the piece on the move.

FWIW I actually think Denver goes to the Finals this year.

Probably depends on context and whether the MIN pick conveys.

I could actually see a three team deal with us flipping our assets for MPJ and Denver landing a star. He’d be a ridiculous fit on offense and we have the defenders to cover him.

Where has Porter ever shown a bad attitude? According to all the players he is well liked in the locker room.

I think it comes from MPJ asking for more touches in the Jazz series

I don't think it means he has a bad attitude but I know that that comment rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

I'm in the camp where I wouldn't trade MPJ for Beal, but I value really highly his ability to score off ball and the level of efficiency he does it. I think he is a unicorn offensively. The most perfect fit of a player next to Jokic, sans Steph Curry

It rubbed a lot of talking heads the wrong way, Malone said he lived it and that MPJ was right. Personally I will take the coaches and teammates word over a bunch that know nothing about it but that is just me.

I don't know if he has a bad attitude or not, I just know that Beal has stayed loyal through a lot a dreary hopeless Wizard seasons and that should count for something. I don't think most players would have stuck it out; free agency or trade demands are more the norm than the exception in these situations.

I don't think Denver needs more star power, Jokic-Porter Jr. is already a pretty ideal 1 - 2 punch. The move should be trading Murray for depth pieces (elite roll players/starters) to round out the lineup and improve their team defense.

        Stealing from the other thread...

If Denver underperforms in the playoffs...

Steph Curry and Draymond Green for Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.

        Jokic/Green/Curry could win it all.

I feel like we pick apart a lot of young players games yet Porter Jr seems to get a pass on here. He’s played barely over a hundred games and has yet to see really any adversity outside his injuries. So I’m going to hold off putting his value on par with Beal, SGA, ect... I’ll be interested to see a lengthy playoff run from him, how his health holds up, his defense, if he can make others around him better.....

What about Ingram for MPJ as a base idea? Anyone want to flesh that out?

MPJ is just a much better off-ball scorer. I wouldn’t trade him for Ingram.

I really enjoyed this read on MPJ. I don’t find his recent display of stardom as just a hot streak. I genuinely believe he is the closest we’ve seen to another Kevin Durant arche-type, and with how he is scoring, at the usage rate he’s currently posting, is rare. Very rare as the article says. I’m all in on MPJ, and he’s improved on the defensive end this year. We’ll see how it holds in the playoffs, but besides Luka and Zion, I think it’s very arguable that MPJ is 3rd best player in the league on a rookie contract.

Yeah, but don't SGA and Murray step on one another?

        1) It's less than the MLE
        2) He can be traded later

        4) The cap is going up

        6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

But Beal is a sure thing with a great attitude and a history of good health, none of which can be said for MPJ.

I can't imagine Denver trading Porter, he's such a perfect fit alongside Jokic & Murray. We can have some fun.

Of course everyone is going to call Porter "damaged goods" and de-value him --- but notice that since the Nuggets started playing him, he doesn't spend time on the injured list. And last year's little rant about shots during the playoffs makes people de-value him because of his attitude; but that does not give him a "bad attitude", when you have a shot as sweet as his, you need to shoot and shoot often. That's his value.

In order to replace him, Denver needs a wing shooter or a stretch-4 with an emphasis on STRETCH. Most of those players are not available and/or Denver's going to want the player plus at least a mid-level 1st. Then add in the salary issue. Porter's still on a very nice rookie contract.

So just trying to find something remotely possible:

Joe Harris would be nice - but it would take Barton's salary to make things work
Duncan Robinson would be nice & Miami could throw in some filler
Lonzo Ball wouldn't be a bad choice - but it would take Green's salary (no doubt New Orleans would like Morris too)

MPJ for Duncan S&T based deal looks awesome to me
