you also have to make decisions on half the roster this summer
Not saying the FO doesn't have work to do, just that it doesn't all have to get done tomorrow.
Although, given the limited FA targets this summer who make sense for our core, I don't think we should be surprised at all if we see a lot of this year's useful vets (Rose, Bullock, Burks & Noel) coming back on inflated 1-year deals after we make a play for Lonzo / Schröder.
those guys have played their way out of taking 1 year deals. it's not realistic.
A) thus the "inflated" part of "inflated 1-year deals"

B) we'll see what ends up actually being realistic, as I'm pretty sure Derrick Rose will prioritize staying with Thibs over maximizing his next contract & I wouldn't be surprised if Bullock chose to start for us for another year...especially at an inflated salary...over coming off someone else's bench on a multi-year deal, assuming no one goes crazy and offers him Bertans money. Noel & Burks, I feel are less likely to come back, but if they don't
C) we have to trust the FO to continue being able to identify useful pieces in FA. So if Nerlens & Burks do get multi-year offers, it'll be on the FO to find capable replacements with the money freed up, which isn't asking the world of a competent staff.
