Shoot better than 3-14 from 3. It's not Jonas fault they're daring Ja to shoot.

TO's careless play & bricks are hutting Memphis.

TO's have been killing us but yeah hit a couple more of those 3's and it is a manageable game.

Credit GS, they showed their championship pedigree & deserved the win. Fun match to watch.

Brooks fouling out was killer. He fueled the comeback. Steph went off though and we couldn't hit from 3. Happens. On to the next one!

On the flip side we wouldn't need to have a comeback if Brooks knocked down some shots in the 1st half. I hate that a good shooting game by Brooks is so pivotal in deciding our fate.

Books going to the bench hurt us. He was doing a great job on both ends. However, I believe JJJ ruined the game for us. You can pinpoint a stupid fail in each of the last plays (3 or 4 last minutes). Not boxing out allowing wiggins the put back, defending curry to the half court line allowing him an easy three, missing easy shots, not spacing the floor, ...

The biggest game of the season so far and yet, they played their heart out, not us. 2nd and 3rd Q we looked terrible on both ends.

I also noticed that there were a very few replays of Memphis` fouls.

PS the reversed call on Draymond`s foul on Ja was also interesting - Draymond clearly pushed Ja by his left hand while keeping his right hand demonstrably vertical. On replay it should be obvious to officials. For some reason, it wasn`t so apparent.

The good news, people might decide to change their view on DB as a player

Two factors that contributed to our poor performance: the presence of JJJ and absence of Konchar.

Going back to my strategic concern, it was amazing to see Ja having been forced to play a slow half-court offence like in our Big-4 golden times. It is certainly a great idea as it contributes to JV`s and Kyle`s performance. Ja has been ineffective though. Oh, and Clarke has been mentally destroyed, but he has no fans here, unlike JV, so who would care.

GS's defense & Green's effectiveness is directly tied to how loose a whistle the officials give him, it's why he's always barking at the refs for that advantage.. Refs have their tactics in how to control a game.. Green was allowed to foul while also getting rewarded for 2 flops, one on Jonas who was dominating the paint early & Brooks who erased the GS 17pt lead for a Memphis 2pt lead.. In the Sacramento thread an hour before the game, I pointed this all out. Knew if a Memphis player (I was thinking JV's size advantage in the post) were to get hot & a problem for GS, they'd foul him out. Just happened to be Brooks in this case who was ejected on you guessed it, a Green flop with Memphis taking a 2pt lead.. Impeccable timing to pick up a cheap foul wouldn't you agree? With Brooks now removed, Memphis had none to cover Curry who iced the game.. Their BS is in plain sight, people just don't care to acknowledge it because they will be branded a sore loser, same purpose behind calling people conspiracy theorist, don't question my authority. Do as I say & like it or I'll brand you a nut.

It's true Memphis really didn't play the game they needed too but hard fact, Dillon was Memphis only answer for Curry & he was fouled out on a weak call after he helped Memphis take the lead... Look at the Pacers/Cavs first round playoffs, Oladipo was fouled out first Q of game 2 after he helped Pacers beat Cavs game 1..... Cavs won game 2 by one possession, think having Oladipo first half would have made a difference?.

It may look to some like I'm complaining but I laid this all out in the Sacramento thread an hour before the game. In every loss Memphis has had to GS, this is how they've officiated the game. A small team & Green is allowed to play defense by fouling to nullify Memphis size advantage in the post, while being reward with soft calls, where the other team can't play as physical.. see Dillon's cheap fouls. GS had their Dillon in the game but the refs were allowing him to foul..

In the games Memphis beat GS, you'll notice the difference is Green is being called for those same fouls he gets away with in their wins..

Dillon is a good player & he brings it every night but he still need to cleanup his decision making/inefficiency. That offsets a lot of the good he does defensively & while some go overboard, it's deserving of criticism.

Melton probably had his worst game as a Grizz as well, GS opened the game up with their bench.

Ja's inability to shoot the 3 ball consistently is the issue. One PG in this game was hitting 3's 5 feet behind the line, one had defenders sagging 5 ft off of him to take away his driving lanes & while you're right, that they could play more up tempo without Jonas in the paint, it's only a mask on that issue..

The issue/problem is still Ja needing that 3 ball in his arsenal..

GS exploited that.

I thought JJJ was great in the 1st quarter aside from the fouls which is what sent him to the bench early in the game. Later on he was too up in down in a game we needed excellence from him. I don't know what the heck happened to Clarke. Feels like he was better last year. I absolutely loved the kid last year.

And yeah Ja not having a consistent 3pt shot was killer. They were daring him to shoot wide open 3's and he was missing. They need to respect his shot in order to not just clog the paint and render him inefficient.
