GTJ will get >$12M/yr from us. He only had two great 30 pt(+) games, but he has showed a lot of potential. I think we need to keep him and find out just how good he can become.
Harris will get Stan Johnson money from us. If Harris would take $12M from us on a four year deal, with the fourth year a team option, I'd lock him up. He can spend a couple years learning to play D, then become a great bargain for the next two years. We definitely need his O ability on the backup squad. If he wants to bet on himself, offer him $7M on a 3 year deal, no player option for the third year.
Stan Johnson will get Harris money from someone else. LOL. Actually, I have no idea what Stan will get, or if the team will bring him back on a cheap(er) deal. His D was not bad this year. He was OK as an end of the bench kind of player. Useful in limited minutes / certain situations. I'd offer Stan something like $1.5 to $1.8M/yr. Oh crap, I just realized we were paying Stanimal 3.8M this season. I thought it was only 3M. Wow.
edit: maybe some ass will want to update their signature with more current predictions from me.
Trent will get 15+
He just rejected 4/54
The issue is also that another team could throw an offer to him and force the Raptors hand to match it.
Again - Trent is a decent player, but what he does is found around the league, for cheaper, and is not as special as people want to believe. Joe Harris just made 4/75 (also overpaid) as a better shooter.
Trent is a complimentary piece, not a cornerstone. He can have a 40 point game, then follow it up with a 2 point game, which is the hallmark of a streaky shooter.
By almost every advanced metric, he is average at best. The whole age thing is the only thing people have to defend him.
With OG for example, you could say he is 22 and improving along with the fact he was an advanced stats darling, which is why seeing his linear growth is expected. I don't see the same with Trent, and we essentially will be capped out with a bench SG as our starter.
I don't think many teams need a SG at over the MLE.
Meanwhile, we will either pay him 15m or have him as starter, otherwise, he and his agent may not want us to match the offer for a starter role.
