Is Uncle Jeff done for the season?
IMO he's our 6th man of the year, when he's not starting, so it's a big loss in my view, but even worse is everything I'm reading from medical experts, and I mean some of the most reputable medical sites on the internet, are all pretty much saying the same thing ... that a sprained Plantar Fasciitis takes at least 6 months to fully heal ... and that's the minimum, whereas the maximum is up to 18 months.

BTW if this is true we desperately need Nic Claxton to regain his pre Covid protocol form.
He was playing at a fairly high level back then and we need that again to help get by the Bucks.

Re: Is Uncle Jeff done for the season?
You could be right, but the only report I've seen is that the medical staff would re-evaluate him in 10 days. That's this Friday.
I don't expect Jeff to be cleared for 5-on-5 immediately, but unless it's more serious than they initially reported, I don't think Green's season is over.

Plantar fasciitis is not a season ending injury but it does take months to fully resolve. He could play in games and take the off season to fully recover.

Game 1 vs Milwaukee starts on Saturday. He’s likely going to at least miss the 1st game.

Plantar Fasciatis is all pain and swelling managment. it isnt something you cant play on. he will get a week of treatment then play on it. it will flare up again at some point. id expect him to be in and out of the lineup all post-season. Duncan played an entire postseason on it one year.
It is a loss, but not a big one. To be Honest, even with some rookie struggles in game 3, id rather claxton have those minutes and with blake we can still go smallball if we want.

This. I don't believe there's any real risk for him playing on it. It's all a matter of pain tolerance. I'd think he'll go when he can, but we have to be willing to accept that he'll be in & out of the line-up, and likely playing reduced minutes. I recall Todd MacCulloch was in & out of the lineup with what was thought to be plantar fasciitis, but it was later discovered to be a neuromuscular disorder.
Any time Green can give us is huge. Even if it's just 2 5-8 minute stints a game. That being said, he'll be used on a capability & as needed basis. He obviously won't be used against Boston anymore. If he's up to it, I believe he'll see time against Milwaukee, but be very game flow dependent.

Re: Is Uncle Jeff done for the season?
The Nets would be in trouble and might not win it all without Jeff Green. He’s the 4th best player on the team and outside of the Big 3 the most versatile, lengthy, and athletic player on the team. He’s a swiss army-knife and unlike Claxton he’s a vet with playoff experience. Consistent too and plays on both ends.
BUT every team’s kind of banged up anyways. The Lakers’ stars are banged up. Embiid is out right now. Divincenzo is out for the season. So in the end it might not matter too much. But it would be a lot harder without him. Nets are already too small and soft with Jeff Green so without him it makes it much worse. Somebody has to step up in his place. DJ, Claxton, or Shamet.

No way. Nets aren't always super transparent with timelines but they're not giving us a 10 day window for a long term injury.
This isn't that serious. That timeline you're looking at is for regular humans and for a full, pain free recovery. NBA players play through pain every game. Dragic tore his plantar fascia in the Finals last year and came back for the last game.
The fact that he was out of the boot and jumping around on the sidelines makes me think he'll be fine.

Jeff green is not the 4th best player on the team. he may not be in the top 7.
-Big3 + Harris is lock top 4.
-5 is probably Blake.
-6 is probably claxton
-7 is brown or green
Green has been a great role guy. everything he does is replaceable by blake, brown or claxton... and honestly as i said above, its probably a good thing it forces nash to play claxton more, who is far and away our best defender and lob threat

All the guys you mentioned are one-way players. Jeff Green is a 2-way player. The 3&D, lengthy, athletic player this team badly needs. Plus his ability to drive to the basket and finish/dunk is very important to this team as no team can just rely on jumpers all day long.
People always say Harris is the 4th best player just look too much into his 3pt shooting as it is the era today but he’s too inconsistent and actually Jeff Green isn’t that far off from him shooting-wise PLUS he can defend Giannis and Middleton on the other end and finish at the rim. That versatility is what the Nets need. There’s enough shooting with the BIG 3.

yea we definitely need his size and athleticism. I was really hoping Nets got a wing somehow before seasons end, but next offseason we're definitely going to have to get a few.

Green is versatile for sure, but he's not that much more of a 2-way than the others on that list. He's definitely much better offensively than defensively.

Blake is every bit the 2-way player Green is. In fact, he is probably better on both ends. neither is great defensively. especially green vs a wing player.
The idea that Green "isnt that far off from harris shooting wise" is absolutely ABSURD. Harris shot 7-8% higher from three on double the attempts per game. That also leaves out teams lived with green getting open threes while they did all they could to limit Joe's looks. It isnt even remotely close who the better player is or whom the more important players is to the nets.
There is also a very strong argument claxton/brown are more important
