Much better coach and some potential internal improvement.

I don’t know bro, as presently constructed both teams are not that good. But the coach does make a difference. Realistically though, what would you want back in a trade, like what team in the league can make an offer for Lillard?

If Lillard wanted out, POR would need to accommodate the request.

OKC has the picks but wants to build around their picks and SGA, as they should.

NOH has assets but nothing top tier, though he would elevate that team.

Maybe Mitchell+from UTA or Simmons+ from PHI.

The top tier contenders don’t typically have much in the way of trade assets.

Utah would be crazy to trade Donovan locked in a 5 year contract to a much older Lillard.

Sign Lonzo to 2+1(T.O) $15 per year deal
Resign Rose to 3/$33 deal
Sign DeRozen to 1+1 (T.O) $25 million per year deal
Resign Gibson 1 year $4 million
Package 19+32+Knox to move to 14-15 to draft Bouknight
Select Usman with #21

21-22 Knicks
Lonzo/Rose/Luca
DeRozen/IQ
RJ/Bouknight
Randle/Obi
Mitch/Gibson/Usman

Enter 22-23 with:
- Randle as an improved legit / 2nd option
- RJ legit 3rd option as SG or SF
- Lonzo a 3/D guard that pushes the ball in transition
- Defined deep bench
- Cap space to sign us a max FA

LeBron finding out that he can't drag a group of random FAs and JAGs to the finals in the west like he could in the east.

I have some sympathy for the Lakers with AD being injured. It really does go to show the team with the best player wins in the NBA. Certainly a big offseason coming up for us.

The Suns might have just become my horse. Beat them Nets.

Would be ironic to see the Suns face Nash and D’Antoni in the Finals.

I don't know guys, too young to me. Utah seems more capable of not choking if they have them 3s falling down.

But Suns have CP3... don't know. It's close call.

Hypothetically if we did go after Lillard I would probably try to trade Randle to Portland in that deal. I would prefer to keep Randle obviously, but I don't see how we can afford both of them and still improve the team afterwards, adding an all-star in Randle who is also on a team friendly expiring contract could help match salary and sweeten the pot and maybe we don't have to send quite as many picks to them in the deal.

I would prefer not to trade for Lillard. We would have no cap space or no assets for 4-5 years, it would be a carmelo anthony level gamble on a player who just lost in the 1st round again to a Murray-less nuggets team and probably doesn't make you a championship contender and who will be making almost 50 million hitting his mid-30s. Better hope he ages like wine like cp3 did instead of getting injured and becoming an albatross like john wall.

You could say his supporting cast sucks but do you really think we will do any better than cj mccollum and norman powell and the role players they had with no picks and cap space, probably not, and that's a 1 and done playoff team

As I said before, Mills wants to compete all the time. He was forced to flip mid season b/c yet another Mills product was abysmal.

Do you believe Fizdale when he said that?

I believe he signed with the Knicks knowing the goal was to tank their first year and that he would see his second year after an offseason of significant reinforcements. The goal was Zion, KD and Kyrie, me believes.

So now what they tell him & he proudly proclaims from day one is not enough

I brought the receipts. Bring the receipts

Ok

Bro... That's the official speech for the public. It's meaningless. Do you think they would have ever admitted to tanking? Only Hinkie owned up to it, and he's practically been banished by the NBA. Their interviews were just a bunch of safe and meaningless platitudes that we hear over and over again. Mills and Perry knew exactly what they were doing. They wanted Zion. Whether Fizdale was in on the plan or actually bought into the idea that he could compete with this atrocity of a roster is fairly irrelevant.

Them talking about trying to compete ahead of the 2018-19 season was their WMDs. They wanted to be bad enough for Zion, and have two max salary slots for KD and Kyrie. That was the process. Talks of "patience", "building championship habits", "culture" and "competing" was just their cover.

They definitely tried to compete the following year, and failed so spectacularly that Mills's demotion was inevitable.

You have Zion, Luka, Booker, Donovan Mitchell, Jamal, Ja and 100% I'm missing someone, future superstars, playing for small markets with high probability to start sending transfer requests in 3-4 years. Why in the world would we trade it all for a guy that couldn't get it done with better squads and in calm environment with no expectations. Just tell me why?
