I would not go that far. You guys could probably just sign him pretty soon though.

You guys are good enough to overcome Nash's shortcomings. Bud is great at what he does, but he is predictable and enabling-- not what our "superstar" needs at this juncture.

Funny thing is you were dissing Durant saying he didn’t sign up to work for his ring yet here he just dropped a 49 point 17 rebound triple double in the most important game of the season.

Funny thing is he didn't have to work very hard down the stretch.

If you can't take a compliment or understand I am merely a glutton for punishment Bucks fan fishing for AND1's then we are done here.

I'm honored you searched my post history though.

How about in a 1 possesion game, during a FT attempt, with under 90 seconds you sub harden out for a defender?

In all seriousness, all this "minutes" talk can legit go out the window. I couldn't give less of a **** about it. We're in the playoffs, 2 games from being eliminated. If Durant and Harden and Kyrie when he gets back don't play big minutes, we likely go home.

They have the entire offseason to get their rest. This is why they were load managed all year, for this situation. Load managing in the playoffs is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

Probably not happening this series. I think the team needs to get healthy (the big 3) for him to shine again at this point. He's crumbling under pressure atm, it's all mental.

Shamet has honestly been a lot better on both ends of the court and should probably have his minutes switched with Joe's.

Yup. it was painfully obvious. Shamet provides a bit more on defense as well. Love Harris, but this is the playoffs, dont worry about hurting feelings.

would have liked to have seen claxton in for the defensive substitutions late. but i get that he didnt play all game so thats reasonable not to.

They're not mutually exclusive, Durant had a monster performance, and Nash did a good job in terms of putting him in good spots to exploit their defense. Our defensive performance in the 2nd half was also awesome, Nash should get credit for that. We also got huge performances out of our role players like Green, Griffin, and Shamet. Nash should get credit for that. We abused Lopez relentlessly whenever he was on the court, Nash should get credit for that. Playing Harden as a decoy despite his total ineffectiveness was a smart move, because it gave Durant space to operate. Nash should get credit for that.

Nash did a good job and Durant also had an epic game. Phil Jackson got amazing games out of Jordan, Kobe, and Shaq many, many times, still doesn't take away from his coaching.

Everyone hating on Nash should eat crow. Y'all keep bitching about things that just aren't true. I saw adjustments and I saw appropriate lineup changes and I saw a team that responded to his coaching.

It is what it is. If all Nash is right now is a cheer leader then that's what we've got. I will happily win a championship at the cost of bringing him back next year. You can say it's not going to happen, all power to you. I'm gonna continue to believe that you're wrong and that we have got this. I can be rational in the offseason.

I understand you. Do you wanna trade Nash for Coach Bud?

There’s no way they would take Nash lol.

Bud is a good coach but he’s not elite. He struggles with adjusting too. He’s gotten better since his ATL days, but he still has trouble adapting on the fly.

Bud is great at architecting and establishing efficient systems that are great in the regular season, but he doesn’t know how to counter quickly when his original gameplan no longer works.

Remember his 2015 #1 seed Hawks were praised for being super-efficient during the regular season. At least 4, if not all 5, of their starters made the all star team, which was a record. They were unimpressive in the playoffs as they only beat our 8th seeded team 4-2 with only one blowout, won an extremely tightly contested series against #5 seed Wizards 4-2, and then got swept in the ECF by the Cavs despite having HCA. What was sad is that a lot of people speculated that the Hawks weren’t as good as their 60 wins suggested and they ultimately proved their doubters right.

I’d also argue that Bud has basically done the same thing every season in Milwaukee. An efficient and typically dominant regular season team that fails to meet expectations in the postseason.

Dude just suddenly realized he was the DPOY after a pathetic meltdown. Can’t make this stuff up. Let’s see if he can back it up in G6.

IMO, he’s lost out because there’s no expected flow. Even though he had open shots tonight, I thought many of them weren’t ones he’d take from his normal spots and/or were rushed.

The Bucks may be too long for him to ever get comfortable in the series, but I don’t think that has to be the case. I think our offensive flow could be much improved, but our coaching staff isn’t making the necessary changes to put us in a position to succeed.

Lets Goooooooooooooooooooo!

1) Kevin Durant just had the best game in Nets History. 50 point triple double, in a must win game, with elite defense, and hit big shot after big shot. that three with PJ all over him with 2 left on the shot clock was a signature moment for him. Props to KD, he gets a ton of hate. he shut everyone up tonight, put this team on his back and got us a win

2) I was real worried tonight... i said pre-game we were in the same spot boston was vs. us in game 3. They needed 50 from Tatum and a role guy to play like a star (Smart 25 points and 6 threes). I didnt think it would happen but it did. 50 from durant and Green played like a star.

3) Giannis not guarding KD is such a scarelt letter in this series... more so when you factor in that when he has been switched on durant, durant has gone right at him and scored at will. Giannis is not in KD's league as a player. James harden on 1 leg guarding giannis in a late moment and waiving off help only to get the stop is really not a good look

4) Gutty performance by Harden. It was clear the dude couldnt move out there. He had no burst. but he ran the offense better then mike james would have. i liked that he took some threes to keep them honest even though he missed them. His defense was solid thanks to his IQ and the bucks having some guys who are zeros on offense. You can tell his leadership mattered. He hit 2 clutch free throws late and had a stop on giannis late and got the crowd going. and he didnt hurt himself further. HUGE.

5) Jeff mother-grabbing green! Durant was superman, but it wouldnt have matter if jeff green didnt keep the game within reach with three after three after three. Without green we would have been starting a 25+ deficiet at halftime.

6) Great mental toughness shown by this team. They awnsered and awnsered and awnsered and hit three after three and we just helpd strong and continued to grind it out. We had dozens of opportunities to fold. Championship mettle. KD and Harden and Kyrie having been here before is enormous for the teams resolve

7) Not sure if others felt it, but shamets three to cut it from 11 to 8 to me was an enormous shot. I think that was the first crack in the bucks armor. mentally that was a big point, and the crowd blew up.

8) 9 turnovers. ive said this all series, if we turn it over less then 10 times, we are near impossible to beat. Great job protecting the ball and when we did turn it over, not a live ball. I thought harden taking a travel over trying to save the play late was a sneaky aware move.

Enormous enormous win. If we can get Kyrie back, we are in great shape. without him and with this version of harden im still nervous, but 2 cracks with 1 at home and the bucks maybe broken mentally

still pissed we chocked away game 3. series should be over.

I can't agree with that at all. The coaching staff is doing what they can to put Joe in position to succeed. In the 1st quarter alone tonight, we started off with a beautiful set for Joe wide open 3. We also found Joe on a cut to the basket, and it was the type of layup he has made his entire career here. Then there was a Bruce Brown baseline drive where he kicked it out to wide open Joe in the corner. He missed all 3 of these shots. There's nothing "out of flow" there as far as the team offense goes, it's simply on Joe. These are shots he has made all season long and he simply cannot make them. It's mental.

Spot on.

theres a ton of time between games and rounds also. Maybe limit harden or Kyrie if it actually is effecting their ability to play through injury, but otherwise, these guys are all good to go 44+

As mentioned previously, Uncle Jeff was a real hero tonight. As great as KD was, we would never be in the position to make that comeback if Jeff Green hadn't kept us alive in the 1st half when nothing else seemed to be working Also shout out to Blake for a very quiet but effective 17 pt performance on 7-11 FG. Shamet also came up huge for us in late 3rd, early 4th tonight and imo, he should be taking Joe's minutes to close out games.

Yep, it has become a very real thing. These last 3 games have been very reminiscent of the 2019 series against Philly where he shot 19% from 3.

Green was our best player until KD took over. He was amazing, looking like prime Ray Allen out there lol. And I doubted his defense, but he stepped up on that end too and did a great job on Middleton and Giannis.

Griffin and Shamet stepped up big too. Griffin continues to play awesome defense on Giannis. Shamet started off terrible but then came through with a big 3 during our comeback and had a key drive and layup (with an uncalled foul where he got hit in the head) late in the game.

Harris continues to disappoint. Brown also had a bad game. Mike James isn't quite ready yet. Claxton in general I think warrants more minutes, he's just an outstanding defender at this point, no two ways about it, but it's not like he's been dominant when he's out there, and he does present some issues on the offensive end. It's also hard to argue with giving him more of Griffin's or Green's minutes when they both had it going the way they did tonight.

I know you’re not talking about me because I never said anything about Harden & KD’s minutes or called for subs to play.

With that said, I wholeheartedly disagree. Prok is right.

I’m not going to credit Nash for benching players who were net negatives from the moment they stepped on the court. Those were obvious observations that needed to be made.

The only change we made offensively was having someone screen for Durant above the 3pt line, so he could get downhill to shoot, penetrate, or pass.

I called for this exact action several times in Game 4 (possibly as early as Game 3) and even in the opening post tonight. Go check my post history if you want. While I’d love to pat myself on the back and say “I have what it takes to be an NBA coach”, it is absolutely ridiculous that it took us so long to use it. I’m watching from home and literally called this days ago. They have a professional NBA staff getting paid millions to coach.

And why should Nash get credit for our defense? Switching, defending man-to-man, and switching back when off-the-ball to inhibit the opposition from swinging the ball to exploit mismatches isn’t rocket science.

Our role players played well because they played well. If Nash gets credit for those who played well, should he get critique for those who didn’t? Of course not.

You’re glossing over the negatives because we actually won. We won because KD put up the best playoff performance in Nets history and a GOAT-tier all-time NBA performance and Jeff Green shot incredibly well from 3.

It’s the coaching staff’s responsibility to put us in the best position to win and adjust. The fact that we lost 2 games in a row and didn’t adjust at all for to start this game is absolutely ridiculous.

It is blasphemous to put Nash and Phil Jackson’s name in the same sentence. At the height of MJ’s offensive prowess, he told the league’s best superstar wing that he wouldn’t win unless he changed his playstyle and bought into a completely different team philosophy and offensive system. Our coaching staff gives the ball to our stars and tells them to ISO away.

I support Nash’s refusal to play end of bench role players who clearly aren’t good enough to have a positive impact.

And I think he was fine letting KD and Harden dictate how many minutes they were comfortable playing.

But those things are minuscule in comparison to the importance and magnitude of the decisions he should be making.

If you think harden is playing with only hamstring tightness godless you. He is clearly playing on a damaged hamstring. He could barley walk the ball up the court without grimacing . He couldn’t even bend.

KD was GOAT like tonight. Literally the greatest offensive player to ever touch a basketball great
