How about handling starter minutes? In Dedmon's career he's had one season over 25 minutes per game... and that was 25.1
Adams is a better defender, a better screener to help shooters get open and wear down defenders and also can handle starter minutes. In Dedmon's career he's played in the low 20s, high teens in minutes minutes most of his career, his career high in minutes for a season is 25.1. The one plus for Dedmon is that he has 3pt range.
I like Dedmon as a backup center, not so much a starter.
May not matter if Miami can get Drummond with cap space or an exception.
Even if he's all that, he still has no bearing on whether or not Bam is tradeable. If there was a star that we could trade Bam for and we were willing to do it if Adams was on the team ... we'd be just as willing if he wasn't.
