Seems like the kind of risk worth taking. 25, 3 years left on his deal, is a position of need, and is a high risk high reward type of guy. Seems like the kind of player who would prefer playing in our everyone eats kind of offence.
FVV/GTJ/OG/Pascal/Kristaps is a solid starting 5
It is a solid lineup if everything works, but I don't see Masai going for it unless we get picks.
What will be the tax implications if raps do trade for porzingis
4 players (og/pascal/fvv/KP) add up to 100ish for next season
1st round pick will range from 6-10$mil
Boucher 7mil
GT 15mil
those 7 players alone put up at 130 mil, tax is 132ish
then add in flynn/yuta/bembry/gillesppe + roster fillers (jalen harris etc)
have the option of using MLE but will probably pass on it cause that will push us 20 mil into tax.
we will be have to be in tax or let gary trent go, and for the next 3 years, will have the tax headache every year.
In other words raptors are not trading for KP.
if the mavs want lowry they can just sign him they have cap space. If josh richardson opts out they can sign lowry and resign tim hardaway, if josh richardson opts in they can choose between lowry and tim hardaway or have to create 8-9 mil cap space by trading off maxi kleber or dwight powell and then keep josh richardson/hardaway and still have room to sign lowry.
