No one wants to play for Thibodeau, and that's well documented. So no, superstars don't want to play for the Knicks.

No, that's not "well-documented." What's well documented is that, in addition to Randle, Yao, Kobe, Rose, Noah, Butler, etc. all loved working with/playing for the guy.

A look at tape of Yao from three seasons ago, before Thibodeau began working with him, and a tape of him from this season would be compelling evidence of Thibodeau's effectiveness.

the Knicks are quite capable of reverting to a laughingstock in short order. They consistently either draft poorly or mismanage their young players and Thibs system will wear thin over time. Nobody is going there

I don’t see it realistically from an assets pov. I love Bridges, but they traded too much ammo for Bridges. Going to be really tough getting that guy without some perfect 3-team trade, and/or further compromising their already paper thin depth.

In the case of a potential Giannis trade specifically it's because the Bucks don't control their own 1st round pick until 2031.

In their ideal scenario they'd move Giannis and somehow not implode because bottoming out wouldn't even help. KAT would be a semi-plausible route to that objective.

anyway, getting back to magic,,,,,he's way off. players want to play @nyk because of THE CITY. the city, like los angeles, expands the player's brand.

it's not because anyone wants to play next to kat. IN FACT nyk should trade kat to phx for durant. kd is old and injured but he's still 5x > kat. kat is a perfect fit next to booker and beal in ishbia's aura

personally, i think thibs is a tough sell. he plays a very tight rotation and works the players hard. playing for nyk would be like playing in miami and you don't see stars running to sunny miami either

there won't be some kind of nyc renaissance because the franchise is validated by THE CITY. it doesn't have a basketball history other than the holzman knicks and that the opponents get their PR in the garden.
