Kobblehead wrote:I think a lot of McBride's stock is being elevated by defense, though. As an offensive player, I think he's just okay. Decently well-rounded, but not an ace creator or anything.

I actually think he's a fine creator who is mostly being safe, as seen by his low TOV%. I also think his team was awful skill wise. Good athletes on defense. That hurts his converted assists. He isn't elite, you're correct. But he gets his offense despite being the only one that can really create points off the dribble on the team. I don't think the ace creator without any fatal flaws is going to be available at our spot. The closest, based on mocks, is Josh Christopher.

The best two way creator at our point in the draft is McBride though. I mean, he's elite on ball and help defense. This game is a clinic on how a player should play defense:

The first half so far, he's shutting down Cunningham when matched on him. Cade looks completely exposed as the PG for them when McBride is harassing him. It's almost Thybulle-esque.

Additionally, he doesn't have the thin, frail frame. +.300 FTr is also encouraging as a future on ball player in the NBA. Finally, it's clear he has complete control of the defense and offense. He's yelling and pushing guys to get in their place. Clearly high IQ. My only issue with him might be being 6'2 and that he doesn't attack the rim as much, but this is the end of the first round we're talking about.

I'm glad you finally came to the realization that this is a trash draft.

Yeah I came to the conclusion a week or so back. It’s not what I would call a great one.

I'm just being annoying since you contended my point a few weeks/months back that this draft wasn't bad.

I'd rather sacrifice defense and go for a guy who puts more pressure on defenders with dribble penetration. McBride is a solid all-around player and he's got youth on his side, I just don't view him as someone that can solve our shotcreation woes.

I’d rather take Tre Mann but your right this team is sorely lacking on the score creation front on the outside. Curry at times was our most important player. Can’t bring that into a playoff setting.

Tre Mann should be our target in the draft. I would move into the back end of the lotto to get him. Elite shot creator, excels as a lead guard in the pick and roll.

Well if I can’t get Green or Big Shai, mini Shai is a great consolation

Package #28 with any rookie contract player outside of Maxey to move up to secure Mann. These are the kind of skillsets that will save this franchise.

Well we interviewed Christopher then Mann... alright spill the beans who here works at the Sixers? lmao

I’m not saying we should but:

McBride (Mini on ball guard vers of Thybulle)
Green
Thybulle
Ben
Embiid

Win games 71-70 done sold I’m in.

We obviously like him as do quite a few teams I'm sure. He's going to move up the draft boards as it approaches. I don't think we'll get him, but he should and most likely is one of our targets.

I'm going to do a McBride/Mann breakdown on their matchup after I watch the game tonight. I already gave the statline, which shows a close to break even, so it should be interesting to see how an elite scorer like Mann gets completely shut down. Like, he is literally the only non-positive UF starter in the game.

Both is going to need a floater game (let Maxey teach them :)). But Mann’s skillset alone makes me reassured that he can acquire it. Had serious uptick second year. Also has the better finishing moves all round. (Tren can barely dunk but gets unbelievable hang time on his scoop layup shots like Shai, whereas McBride can get up there for a lob).

Both can shoot, score, dribble, handle, playmake and pass which is premium for today.

Miles mcbride. Winning player plays both ends. Kind of like a smaller version of marcus smart. Jump shot heavy and struggles to score on halfcourt.

I dont think he’s a guy we need nor do i think he can run a ton of PnR and ISO.

Nah’shon Hyland.

What can you say about this guy?

I think he’s first round material. Mid first to be exact.

He checks both boxes of numbers and eyetest.

Can shoot, do some iso and run PnR. He plays below the rim but he’s kind of long and does this weird reverse layup that is hard to block. I think he’s an underrated playmaker.

His body can improve with age.

I like him a lot.

Both Bones and Ayo gives me Shake vibes. We know Doc is a nuff nuff.

Maxey/Shake play their best when they scoring guards, anything else is a detraction. Get ball score. Easy don’t fiddle it around get ball and score.

He played well in the scrimmage the other day, same with Christopher. If Christopher doesn’t go top 15 something is up that scouts know that we don’t.

He is nice. Needs work but can’t teach size, loves to be psychical. Has all star traits in him. I’m telling ya he gives me more Mitchell vibes then the other Mitchell. On the screen it said number 40# prospect... yeah right this draft ain’t that stacked lmao

Bones gets me the Shake Vibe but not ayo.

Bones and Shake are natural shooters that are both expanding their games into PnR playmakers. Just because someone plays like Shake does not mean he’ll end up like Shake.

Ayo on the other hand is more of a natural PnR playmaker that is trying to be a better shooter. Ayo is a guy who can just run PnR whole game like Caris Levert. Im not saying he’s gonna be as good as Caris but more on the style of play.

I like his upside. He can be better than Ayo, Osunmu, Bones, Mitchell and Butler in the future.

But right now he’s really raw.

And honestly, all of these guys are very likely to be on the same ceiling of Milton or Maxey only. Absolute best case would be LeVert.

If you want someone who can be special, you’d have to go high like Bouknight.

Kobblehead wrote:Nah I think Barnes has legit shotcreating talent.

He creates more off the dribble than Bouknight and those boys I was just talking about. And he's like 30-40 pounds heavier than them.

Wait what? Kobble please. Barnes has the lane drive to the right, take that away he has not much at all.

He really is Draymond Green 2.0 down to the wire at every step of the way and I don’t throw out Draymond Green comps lightly. We have our bigger Draymond anyway with Ben.
