Yeah, I realized my mini-rant there was kind of a kneejerk reaction so I removed it.
All these injuries feel like a cascade of short-term greed and poor decisions from both the league and the players - frankly, starting with the ill-conceived bubble last year, which was kind of like robbing Peter to pay Paul. They were chasing what was left of last season at the expense of player safety and the quality of the product for this season (and maybe even next season).
But even if they had to do the bubble, they at least could have copied what the NHL did to get through this season. Start later, do a pod system with realigned divisions to reduce travel. It's crazy that
Gary Bettman's NHL showed better leadership than the NBA here.
