If you sign Lowry with cap space you have the 4.7 for players like Millsap or Gay.

Two max players who aren't scorers and can't/won't shoot. The board is targeting slow washed geezers like Love, Gay, Millsap, Steven Adams, Eric Gordon, and Blake Griffin. And the majority want to throw away a young Robinson and Nunn if they get more than what we payed JJ, Olynyk, and Waiters.

No, no, no. We are trading for Kristaps. Kawhi, and Sexton. We are drafting Tre Mann and Johnny Juzang.
We are winning chips from now on.
Will not get the full MLE and they will only be able to resign Robinson and Nunn up to tax line. From understand you can't exceed the tax with MLE.oreon wrote:MettaWorldPanda wrote:MettaWorldPanda wrote:4.7 room exception as veteran backup 4

Can't the Heat sign Lowry with cap space then resign Robinson and or Nunn to go over the cap then they will have access to the full MLE which 9 mil. Robinson and Nunn cap hold is only 4.7 mill each. And as long as you are over the cap but under the luxury tax line I think you can use full MLE.
If that's the case then we can probably get better options than Gay. Portis for example or maybe Blake if he's willing to leave the Nets. But I'd bet Blake takes another min deal to try to win a ring. A healthy Nets is virtually a lock to the finals in the east.

Much rather take gambles on the unproven/upside type players for that kind of money

Looks like way better version of Meyers Leonard. Great speculation addition to this team. Looking forward to seeing him and Achuiwa get some run together in the preseason.
