4.7 room exception as veteran backup 4

If you sign Lowry with cap space you have the 4.7 for players like Millsap or Gay.

If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

That turn around was smooth AF!

I'm excited to see Bam's improvements once he's clocked in time working w/ Team USA. I do expect significant elevation in his skills & mindset. 20+PPG sort of improvements.

Can't the Heat sign Lowry with cap space then resign Robinson and or Nunn to go over the cap then they will have access to the full MLE which 9 mil. Robinson and Nunn cap hold is only 4.7 mill each. And as long as you are over the cap but under the luxury tax line I think you can use full MLE.
If that's the case then we can probably get better options than Gay. Portis for example or maybe Blake if he's willing to leave the Nets. But I'd bet Blake takes another min deal to try to win a ring. A healthy Nets is virtually a lock to the finals in the east.

FML.....no 1st round picks, no 2nd round picks, and with last yrs 1st pick we took a 6'9" athletic freak with guard skills and forced him to be our backup center. Two max players who aren't scorers and can't/won't shoot. The board is targeting slow washed geezers like Love, Gay, Millsap, Steven Adams, Eric Gordon, and Blake Griffin. And the majority want to throw away a young Robinson and Nunn if they get more than what we payed JJ, Olynyk, and Waiters.

No, no, no. We are trading for Kristaps. Kawhi, and Sexton. We are drafting Tre Mann and Johnny Juzang.

We are winning chips from now on.

Bam should develop that consistent midrange J that Chris Bosh and Kevin Garnett used to have. If he gets that, he would be tough to handle. Heck even Udonis had that midrange J in his Prime that you cannot leave wide open.

This would be our realistic expectation from Bam.

Will not get the full MLE and they will only be able to resign Robinson and Nunn up to tax line. From understand you can't exceed the tax with MLE.

Low key excited to see team Nigeria. Wonder how KZ, Achiuwa and Gabe go in a different system. Hoping to see a consistent J from all three of them.

Maybe it's just me, but there's something depressing about going after old vets like Lowry/Conley with the big bucks trying to squeeze the last ounce of respectful ball out of them before the expected decline.

Much rather take gambles on the unproven/upside type players for that kind of money

I can't imagine Riley would hitch his wagon to Lowry. It's just illogical. Pray for Kawhi. Go get Sex and Love. Draft a couple dudes.

And also, the market determines what type of check you get. Just because you expect a $30 mil per year contract at 35 years of age doesn't mean you're going to get it. If teams look at Lowry and think they're getting CP3, then they're wrong.

That's a great question. I was under the impression that the moment they operate as a room team they are not afforded the luxury of the MLE but never came across the scenario of them going over the cap after the fact with Nunn and Robinson if it would allow them to use the MLE. That would be great tbh cause the level of talent we could get with the MLE would help this team out greatly. If you are also able to use to MLE that also open's up the Bi annual as well. Honestly if the MLE and BA door opens up with us going over the cap with Duncan and Nunn I could very well see us renouncing the rights to Oladipo, Ariza, Dragic, and Iguodala if a trade is not made before free agency opens.

NOW we're talking.

MUCH better to get him after the buyout, then trade Herro + Precious for Sexton, then get Lowery or Spencer Dinwiddie for remaining cap space. Let Duncan and Nunn walk unless they take MLE money.

PG : Sexton
SG : Dinwiddie
SF : Jimmy
PF : Love
C : Bam

Bench : Dipo, KZ, Ariza, Strus, Vincent, Omer, Dedmon, vet min guys

That's probably the best offseason we can hope for.

Skill level looks legit, just needs to show he can move fast enough and be tough enough for the NBA game.

A great low risk addition, we desperately need that big shooter next to Bam.

Turkey lost to Greece and won't play in the Olympics so Omer will be in Heat camp and summer league, coaches need to be with him daily.

Wasnt long ago Riley was saying that he was done giving big contracts to guys over 30 and then had to justify trading for Jimmy to which he responded by saying Jimmy was barely over 30.

Lowry and Conley are in their mid 30s so giving either of them a big contract would be unjustifiable according to his own words.
